Rand Paul Takes Lead in Assault Against Trump
PJ Tatler ^ | Walter Hudson

“It’s high time that somebody does stand up and really call nonsense nonsense.”

No doubt seeking to distinguish himself among the many GOP presidential contenders who are not Donald Trump, Senator Rand Paul has this week taken an aggressive stance against the frontrunner’s campaign. From Time, reporting on a conference call Paul had with journalists:

Paul explained his decision to go aggressively negative on Trump, the reality television star and real estate magnate. “If no one stands up to a bully, a bully will keep doing what they’re doing,” Paul said. “And unless someone points out that the emperor has no clothes, they’ll continue to strut about and what we’ll end up with is a reality TV star as the nominee if we’re not careful.”

As much as I liked SOME of his father’s ideas, I have yet to hear (especially during the so-called ‘debate’) any reasons I should vote for X....Mr. Paul, that’s a hint.

What I have heard/seen is DT give some ideas, and (many in) the field hold their finger in the wind and, when the breeze is right, shout, ‘ME TOO!’.

Mr. Paul, you and Mr. Cruz have had some good days recently in the Senate, bringing much needed attention to the den(s) of vipers. But, I’m not sure if it’s not too little too late to expose the ‘go along to get along’ that was overwhelmingly voted in last election cycle.

I like Rand Paul but this is a losing strategy. He needs to stay in the Senate and work hard to protect the Constitution and our personal freedoms. Everybody can’t be President.

All Ron Paul, Jr. - uh, I mean ‘Rand’ is going to do is further self-identify as an out-of-touch resident of the fringe.

The other candidates, or most of them, seem to have not taken anything from Reagan’s winning formula. The more they attack him the more they are perceived by the voters as Republicans, gopes as it were, and the less support they will get. The guy is a world class negotiator and has a feel for turning every exchange to advantage.

Rand did have some contributions in his Senate career.

But right now is probably not his time, if he ever is going to be presidential material.

Rand Paul has no political instincts. The people supported him up until recently are largely the same people who support Trump. Rand should just shut up and realize that 2016 is not going to be his year.

Gingrich left the political arena because, “The GOP ate their own kind”. Way to go Rand, ever ready to prove the point.

(Update) Rand-Donald Feud Escalates

(excerpt) Rand has increasingly been slamming Trump as a “fake conservative,” noting that the Tea Party movement that sent him (Paul) to the Senate “was actually rebellion against fake conservatives.”

“It was rebellion against Republicans who grew the size of government. Republicans who doubled the debt and also Republicans who voted for this bank bailout to. Bailout Wall Street and all this taxpayer money that was spent on the big banks. Conservatives were all opposed to that. And yet, Donald Trump was for that. He was for ObamaCare before he was against it,” he told Fox yesterday.

“He has been for gun control before he was against it. He says, the Clintons are great with the economy and Democrats are better with the economy. So, I just think we ought to be very careful and ought to know who we are actually thinking about before people consider voting for him because I really think he is a fake conservative. I don’t think he is consistently been anything in his life other than a promoter of himself so people have to really listen to him and decide what he really stands for.”

Paul added that Trump’s “stupid kind of language… doesn’t really get us anywhere.” ....... (stay tuned on the feud)

During the debate Paul starting pointing his finger at Christie, ranting and raving. The minute Christie started on the attack Paul looked away, but of course kept the smirk on his face and started staring down at the floor. He didn’t have the nerve to face Christie. This man’s wife dominates him. What a little twerp. The last one to attack Trump out of desparation to get noticed was Perry, who will end his campaign any day. Paul will be the next.
