Senator Ted Cruz has drawn both praise and scorn for comments made last Friday on the Senate floor. According to the Texas Tribune, Cruz upset some by calling Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell a liar.
I have listened to the comments of my colleague, the junior senator from Texas, both last week and this week, and I would have to say that he is mistaken, Cornyn said.
At issue: Cruz on Friday accused Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell a Cornyn ally of telling a flat-out lie to Senate Republicans over movement of legislation related to an obscure, controversial federal agency called the Export-Import Bank.
For Senate standards, it was a savaging comment.
Cruz defended his comments on Sunday.
No member of this body should engage in ad hominem attacks directed at any member of this body, be they a Republican or be they a Democrat, Cruz said.
At the same time, I would note that it is entirely consistent with decorum, and with the nature of this body traditionally as the worlds greatest deliberative body, to speak the truth, he added. Speaking the truth about actions is entirely consistent with civility.
Cornyn took the floor immediately after Cruz. He backed McConnells procedural maneuvers that stifled a Cruz amendment on Iran. And Cornyn questioned the legitimacy of Cruzs charges against McConnell.
If the majority leader had somehow misrepresented to 54 senators what the facts are with regards to the Ex-Im Bank, I would suspect that you would find other voices joining that of the junior senator, but I hear no one else making such a similar accusation.
There was no misrepresentation made by the majority leader on the Ex-Im Bank, Cornyn added.
On Mondays edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Republican political strategist Matt Mackowiak said he thought that Cruz may have hurt his future in the Senate.
Cruzs impact as a U.S. Senator is going to be minimal going forward. You know, hes going to be persona non grata within the Senate Republican leadership. And if youre a conservative you may think thats great, but if youre a Texan, you know, you might be wondering what is Cruz going to be doing the rest of his Senate term.
Do you approve of Cruz calling McConnell a liar on the Senate floor? Let us know in todays KFYO Poll of the Day.

Poor Ole Post Turtle.
I hope Oren (b00bie)Hatch, John Cornyn et al read that poll.
Support the Liar at your own political risk.
Funny thing is, If the poll had been worded a bit different to read “Do you think Mitch McConnell lied to the Republican Caucus?” the number would have been north of 98%.
Ya’ll be sure to post those results over on McConnell, Cornyn and Hatch’s facebook pages. I hear they like publicity. :)
Of course I approve. I, too, have called McConnell a liar on several occasions via emails. Further, I approve Cruz speaking the truth.
Yes: 94%
Well in actuality Not Sure did wind up getting elected and replaced President Camacho.

" ... And there was a time in this country, a long time ago, when reading wasn't just for fags and neither was writing. People wrote books and movies, movies that had stories so you cared whose ass it was and why it was farting, and I believe that time can come again!"
If McTurtle lied, I have no objections to Cruz calling him a liar.
I heard mcConnell has been going to a plastic surgeon a whole lot lately - seems his nose keeps growing and the plastic surgeon has taken up residence in the Capitol Rotunda to deal with all the senators and representatives whom have a similar problem. Let’s just say the plastic surgeon is making extreme cash flow and may soon be able to purchase an entire new building to deal with nose jobs, tummy tucks, and liposuction of pork barrel bellies. now that Obama is out of the country, the surgeon has been able to get in several rounds of miniature golf
A resounding “YES”!
How about a poll asking if people approve of McConnel lying to the people and senate Republicans about the contents of a treaty?

Well, if the shoe fits, wear it.
