Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Donald Trump and their wives were scheduled to have lunch in New York City in June, before the real estate mogul became a candidate for president.
Senate votes intervened and Cruz couldn't make it and the two postponed.
A month later, the two Republican presidential candidates -- this time, without their wives -- finally got together Wednesday afternoon at Trump Tower. Trump said Cruz had called him Tuesday to ask for the meeting.
And in that time, what would have been a low-key meeting took on new importance. Trump surged to first place in the GOP primary polls, and Cruz's warm words toward Trump separated him from a crowd of candidates denouncing the real estate mogul over his controversial remarks about undocumented immigrants...

For whatever reason, I see them as "The Odd Couple" buddies that will sit for a Coke and salty peanuts to discuss a Yankees-Astros ALCS.

Well in the age of historically bad deal making, Trump is a natural pick. I still can’t belive odumbi couldn’t get those prisoners released. They must have threatened him with Larry Sinclair photos or something.

It’s sickening how pat and stew on glennbeck have been mocking Trump. I mean these guys brought us romney. Beck said romney was the next george washington. They mock Trump like the left mocks anything good and descent complete with derisive cackling.
I thought about that -- and then remembered how millions of Americans who pay no income tax somehow receive income tax "refunds" from the Treasury. Undebited taxpayers, we could call them.
I saw Cruz on Fox today and Cruz was very warm and extremely complimentary towards Trump in response to every question Kelly asked him about Trump. I’d be willing to bet that Trump might be a VP candidate for Cruz or the other way around, depending on how the election will go.
When you opponent is down make sure he stays down.

i agree, Mariner. what’s not to like in this story. It elevated my respect for both of them.
Everyone makes a big deal about Cruz cruising for future votes. I don’t buy it. I”m thinkin’ these guys just might be genuine buddies.

Here is an obvious truth:
1. If Cruz drops out at some point his supporters will go to Trump (mostly).
2. If Trump drops out at some point his supporters will go to Cruz.
Given these factst it obvious to me that is in the best interest of both Cruz and Trump to maintain their current friendly relationship. It’s just good business.

When they got rid of Andrew wilcow is when I quit watching.I don’t think that smart on their part one bit.
Shrewd of Sen. Cruz. If the Donald is sucking up all the media coverage overshadowing all other candidates, then go to where the spotlight is shining and steal the show. Only Ted Cruz can out-troll Trump. ;)
