What a difference a couple of announcements can make. First, former Governor Jeb Bushs declaration that he is indeed running for President gave him the predictable bounce that most candidates normally get. Then the travesty of real estate developer/reality television star Donald Trumps all-for-show announcement probably made some Republicans stare into the abyss and see a bona fide travesty. In any event, the newest Zogby Analytics Poll of 350 likely Republican primary/caucus voters nationwide has Mr. Bush in a solid first place position with 20% support. His closest challenger is famous neurosurgeon Ben Carson with 10%. No other candidate reaches double digits and several have dropped precipitously since the last Zogby Poll taken just two weeks ago.
Bush and Dr. Carson are followed by Texas Senator Ted Cruz with 8% (6% in early June) and Trump 8% (6% before), then Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker 7% (9%), Kentucky Senator Rand Paul 6% (11%), newly announced New Jersey Governor Chris Christie 5% (5%), Florida Senator Marco Rubio 4% (7%), former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal tied at 3% (down from 7% for Huckabee and from 1% for Jindal), former Texas Governor Rick Perry 2% (4%), and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, and Ohio Governor John Kasich all at 1%. South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and former New York Governor George Pataki did not reach 1%.[continued]

If only Walker, Cruz, Carson & Trump remain in the race with Bush as the lone GOPe endorsed candidate through first 25 primaries, then Bush wins nomination.
If Christie, Pataki, Rubio, Paul & Bush remain in the race through first 25 primaries, then Bush loses nomination, and one of Walker, Cruz, Carson or Trump will win.
Pauline Kael, a NY Times arts critic is most famous for having this same view of Nixon's victory.
From Wikipedia:
Kael has often been quoted as having said, in the wake of Richard Nixon's landslide victory in the 1972 presidential election, that she "couldn't believe Nixon had won", since no one she knew had voted for him.[45] The quote is sometimes cited by conservatives (such as Bernard Goldberg, in his book Bias) as an example of cluelessness and insularity among the liberal elite. There are variations as to the exact wording, the speaker (it has variously been attributed to other liberal female writers, including Katharine Graham, Susan Sontag, and Joan Didion),[46][47] and the timing (in addition to Nixon's victory, it has been claimed to have been uttered after Ronald Reagan's re-election in 1984).[48]The story most likely originated in a December 28, 1972 New York Times article on a lecture Kael gave at the Modern Language Association, in which the newspaper quoted her as saying, "I live in a rather special world. I only know one person who voted for Nixon. Where they are I don't know. They're outside my ken. But sometimes when I'm in a theater I can feel them."[49]
CNN Poll: Poll: Bush, Trump rising nationally for GOP, but both trail Clinton
Sorry I should have pinged you.
They don't mention candidates in places 8 thru N. Ted's in there somewhere. In order it's:
Notably absent from this top five -- though statistically speaking not far behind -- are Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (6%, down from 14% in May) and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (6%, down slightly from 10%). Both had been top five candidates in each of the last two CNN/ORC polls, and Walker had been in the top five since February.
Any polling now isn’t accurate, and besides they will always lean toward the political position of those conducting it.
Media and others want to see Jeb always in the top three positions....they know he has no chance against Hillary and why the GOP picked him.
Yep - I noticed the same thing - Cruz in top 4 and up 2 points instead of being listed on the back page...
Jeb Bush will never be President of the United States.
Why are you, posting here?
Maybe because he doesn’t want to vote for an amnesty candidate?
Jebster will lose if nominated.
ping to excellent compilation of Cruz articles at comment #26
I'm not convinced of that anymore.
??
What was wrong with that posters statement?
Bush, Carson, Cruz and Trump. One out of four isn’t bad. Conservatives have some serious work to do.
It’s Zogby. We know what side he’s on.
Not to play devil’s advocate, but you’ll probably have to look at sources all around the country, including polling (which is mostly likely BS anyway).
