S.E. Cupp tearfully begs GOP to accept marriage equality

The conservative pundit tells CNN Republicans will become "relics" if they don't evolve on same-sex marriage.

Conservative pundit S.E. Cupp got emotional on CNN Friday afternoon in the wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage equality, which she urged the Republican party to accept. Tears welling, lip quivering and all, Cupp — a longtime supporter of same-sex marriage, though not always for the most progressive reasons — begged the GOP to evolve on the issue, lest conservatives begin to be viewed as “relics.”

“Those people there are not pariahs, they’re patriots,” Cupp said of same-sex couples. ”And wherever you stand on the politics of this issue … it’s hard not to see these people as just wanting the human dignity that the rest of us have when it comes to death benefits, hospital visitation or child custody.”

The commentator also told host Wolf Blitzer that the issue is one of basic morality, not of politics. And when pressed on conservatives’ continuing objections to the Supreme Court’s decision, Cupp explained that it’s long past time for the GOP to join the 21st Century.

“This is America,” Cupp said. “Those people are Americans, and that is our future. And so for my party, which I deeply deeply love — my party really has to reconcile the fact that we are going to become relics if we don’t get to where these people are.”

What she fails to realize is that the party is not the cause, it is a tool; and if it is not the proper tool it must be put down, and another taken up.

Where can you go that’s any better? ‘Cause I’d like to go, too.

The lesser evil is still evil, no question. But the greater evil is more so. Once it boils down to the two candidates, a vote for a fringe party, or no vote, IS a vote for the greater evil.

I always vote in the primaries.

And look what a success that strategy led to. A fully evil GOP that sides with Dems and liberals. Care to explain that? Want more of it? Then get a new plan. Or contribute to further destroying the country. Simple choice.

You can keep lying to yourself. It’s your call. But I promise that the only vote wasted or for evil is one for evil in any form. Because there are more of us now than when we stopped Romny’s ascension. So vote conservative or get Hillary. We aren’t changing.

What conservative do you suggest?

What do you suggest when he loses the primary, and we get a moderate to run against the Dhimmicrat, possibly Hillary?

How is a vote for anybody but the Repuke give us anyone but Hillary? We have 2 parties and some wishful thinkers, and that’s the truth.

So by your logic, we’re getting Hillary.

That being said, I can’t vote for Jeb.

We have to seize control of the GOP; it is the only solution.

Cruz. If you voted for Romney you have no excuse to not vote Cruz.

Well, the press is never candid about what manner of man.

With John Goodwin (his smile seems to indicate something about him):
