Recently, in Mexico, the candidates for mayor of the Mexican city of Guadalajara included a famous Mexican clown named Lagrimita.
And in the United States, now that Donald Trump has filed the necessary paperwork with the Federal Election Commission, the ranks of Republican presidential hopefuls expanded to include an anti-Mexican clown.
The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody elses problems, Trump said to supporters at Trump Tower where the real estate mogul declared his bid for the GOP nomination. When Mexico sends its people, theyre not sending their best Theyre sending people that have lots of problems, and theyre bringing those problems with us. Theyre bringing drugs. Theyre bringing crime. Theyre rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
Given those remarks, its too bad we cant say the same about Trump. As a candidate, he has lots of problems. Besides Mexico, the billionaire fired away at China, Japan, South America, and the Middle East. Despite pitching himself as a new kind of candidate, he favors an old fashioned 20th Century protectionism where U.S. companies have to manufacture products within our borders or face confiscatory tariffs and taxes....

Fear, with a side of guacamole.
The more they dis him the more I like him
He does not put up with their crap
I could live with 4 years of him telling the media to go F themselves
My BIL is 100% Mexican American and he is totally opposed to illegal immigration. He wants a fence built.
So, i take it this means that La Raza won’t be endorsing trump?
I think they're all in for Rick Perry.
For the record, I don’t give a flying *** what anyone in Mexico says about a Legal American.
I could care less what some dirt-world Mexican has to say about American politics.
trump is correct
send every one of the illegals back.......
except the ones who do my neighbors lawn, and brickwork and roofing and siding and general repair work and clean my neighbors house and babysit his kids abd pick lettuce and work on sod farms and pick vegetables........
you know the stuff lazy moartar forking americans on welfare wont do...
Oh, you think I’m “using him” against Trump?
He’s not across the border, he’s here.
You are right. I read the thing rapidly, but what do you make of an American that writes so that it is not plain which country he is from? For example:
“As a Mexican-American, its easy to take offense at Trumps comments on Mexico. Whats difficult is taking them seriously.”
Looks like he still wants to keep one foot in the old country. My ancestors came from England and Scotland, I am very much an anglophile, but I don’t get offended when I read a negative comment about either country. I usually will agree with it (sadly).
Don't you see a just a tad bit of hypocrisy there?
For the record, I believe both pieces should be read. If no one is interested they can ignore them. That was my point last evening. That is my point now. Thank you for posting Navarrette's column to help me make it.
I am not going after Don Trump, though I have very little use for him. You are quite obvious in your attacks on Mr. Trump. See the difference?
So your point in posting Navarrette’s piece was?
Showing the effect Trump’s statements are having on different constintuentcies? Exposing people here to the news? Like I’ve done 28,723 times now.
Your comments last night were an objection to my source, not my motives. Are you saying that is not the case now?
So many anti-Trump posts! Looks like supporters of other candidates are in panic!
Is it an “anti-Trump” thread?
