Cruz very neatly side- stepped the issue by playing both sides of the question. I differ with him , as to his assertion that for some it is a “tradition” issue. He FAILS to point out that STATE’S RIGHTS WERE the ISSUE when the war started and that LINCOLN drew attention to the slave issue as a means of weakening the south after the war was going the way of the south. SLAVERY WAS NOT the reason for the WAR of NORTHERN AGGRESSION...
A polished politician knows how to dodge the truth. That’s strike two for me.
What’ll he ever do without your vote in a nation of 350 million souls?
A STATE'S RIGHT to do what?
SLAVERY WAS NOT the reason for the WAR of NORTHERN AGGRESSION...
"But not to be tedious in enumerating the numerous changes for the better, allow me to allude to one other -- though last, not least. The new constitution has put at rest, forever, all the agitating questions relating to our peculiar institution -- African slavery as it exists amongst us -- the proper status of the negro in our form of civilization. This was the immediate cause of the late rupture and present revolution." - Alexander Stephens, vice-president of the Confederate States.
Don't you think Stephens would have known what he seceded for?
If half your reason for not supporting Ted Cruz is because he doesn't sign on to your revisionist version of history then I'd be fascinated to know what the other reason is.
Of course slavery was the reason for the War of Southern Aggression. The only (singular) “states right” that any of the slavers were interested in was the right to own other human beings.
Are you from the South? How do you know it isn’t tradition?
Since this is Cruz’s strike two....I guess you liked Romney’s answer then?
What a clown you are...seriously, he gives the best answer and you criticize it. Tell us, Molly, who do you REALLY support?
