Here’s an idea. Give each of these 25,000 households a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. In fact, even emboss them with the CBC logo.
When they need water, the nearest source is the Inner Harbor. Go get some. Strain it, boil it, BINGO! Clean free water.
So I just looked at a map. It looks like there’s only one section of the city where a body of water is more than two miles away.
I hated doing them too! I had notices that I left stating that the water would be turned off in 2 days, and urging them to call the office and make some sort of financial arrangements. That usually worked.
That's $1600 per customer. That's a lot of months behind in their bills.
