We all know that if the Republican debates include all the declared candidates that it's going to be a circus. Each candidate will only get to speak for a few minutes and we won't learn much. We'd learn more if the debates were limited to the candidates who had the greatest chance of getting the nomination.
Here are the most realistic candidates--not the best candidates, but the ones who have at least a chance to win the nomination:
Scott Walker: Current governor of Wisconsin, an inspirational speaker, riding high in several polls.
Jeb Bush: Former governor of Florida, he's been out of politics for years--but he's a Bush! Out of politics for a while, but building a huge war chest, and also doing OK in the polls.
Ted Cruz: He's raised a lot of money in a short period of time, he excites audiences, and he's an intellectual powerhouse with a great record of accomplishment.
Marco Rubio: Young, telegenic, Hispanic, and has a billionaire bankrolling him. Supports amnesty for illegal aliens, but no one is perfect!
Rand Paul: He excites crowds and has important supporters like Mitch McConnell. Not a fringe candidate like his Dad....

Everyone who has failed to formerly announce their candidacy as of today should be barred. First in, first served.
It would be a political mistake to exclude Carson and Fiorina.
We need to make clear we’re serious about listening to Ben’s ideas.
We need to keep Carley in the game to bash Hillary more effectively than anyone else can.
He’ll, have them draw lots and appear 5 at a time in a series...how hard is that?
So we’re just like the Democrats and mere race & gender get you a place on stage?
RINOs and liberal moderators.
I mostly agree with the article, but I wouldn’t mind if Fiorina made the initial cut. She can rip Hillary to shreds without being accused of sexism.
Jeb will get to talk the most. Just wait.
Draw numbers out a hat. Divide GOP candidates into 2 groups. Hold two debates, at first, until some candidates drop out. Give voters a chance to see how many fine candidates the GOP has.
Six Debates but no one who doesn’t poll below 6%
Mitt isn’t Running—let him moderate the debates!
The MSM will do its best to decide the Democratic and Republican nominees. Its best is still very good -- its propaganda works. We have to run a campaign against the MSM that reaches the voters through the MSM. If Carson and Fiorina are in the debates, it will be harder for the MSM to effectively slander Republicans as anti-woman and anti-black.
That doesn't make us quite like the Democrats, who genuinely believe that high skin melanin content and double-X chromosomes are job qualifications.
With Hillary as the likely Dem nominee, I think that keeping Fiorina in the debates is more important than keeping Carson, but I don't regard either of them as a token identity candidate. Neither will be president, but they are very impressive people. By staying in front of television cameras, they can help Ted Cruz win.
A circus complemented by a two ring carnival.
No, YOU are just like Democrats and can’t see past that.
Ben has some great ideas that need to be heard rather than dismissed.
He’s just not ready for the office.
Carly has some great ideas and is in the perfect position to beat up on Hillary, in a capacity other candidates can not.
Remove one debater from each debate until you have three candidates left. Eliminate by polling or audience vote to 900 numbers... or both.
No one who consents to lower himself to appear in that environment is qualified to be President.
The top five in polls or voting 10 days before the debate is held.
No more than three debates.
If candidates below the top five wish to debates each other, hold those separately.
2ndDivisionVet doesn't deserve that. He just asked the obvious question.
I propose that debates be limited to two candidates per debate and have many, many debates without moderators. Let them duke it out by asking and answering each others questions and charges. To have a debate with all these candidates at one time would be a frigging circus.
Any body who can’t prove their Conservative values by their speeches, actions, or voting record.
He’s an AMNESTY IDIOT.
