How about just legalizing altogether and end this bs once and for all?

Okay, he won’t order a crackdown —
will he direct his subordinates (DEA, Attorney General, et al) not to conduct one, eh?

BOOM! There goes Rand Paul's raison d'être up in a cloud of smoke. Are you saying Cruz and Paul have the same position on federal marijuana prohibition?

I don't like it, but It isn't enough to push me out of his coalition. He's doing this to make a move for the Libertarian/Stupid Liberal vote.
They don't amount to much, but every little bit helps.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
Why would he order a crackdown?
States Rights, right or wrong as long as they don’t violate the United States Constitution.
If someone happens to live in a Pothead State and they decide it isn’t their cup of Tea, either they work to repeal the Law or they move to another State.
Is it me, or is the Media frantically trying to trap Senator Cruz with all these silly gotcha questions and make believe scenarios?
Heck, most of the time they wont give his Campaign the time of day. The Media is as transparent as Mud.

Sen. Cruz doesn't see the Supremacy Clause as an absolute, any more than the First Amendment. He sees the states and the federal government as "spheres of influence" where there should be a balancing of interests. In this instance, he would defer to this state whose people have spoken on this issue, despite the fact that he opposes legalization. In other states that have not so acted, he would enforce federal law. If Congress passed a law respecting the Colorado law, and he signed it, however, Sen. Cruz would enforce federal law.
That is my reading of the response from Sen. Cruz's staff.

Ted Cruz is 10th Amendment strong again. States Rights trump the Federal Government here again.
Besides Ted has far more important work to do within the Federal Government confines. Like abolishing or downsizing the EPA, IRS, DOE, FDA, etc etc etc.....

Ted, being a strict Constitutionalist, is leaving it up to the states. I see no problem.

Good, it should be the state’s decision.

This pot controversy isn't helping employment. I still have not heard any numbers
on how many people have lost their jobs from drug testing, even from second hand smoke.
States rights prevail, but the Feds can take that away when they get involved.
The Feds over-reach is devastating which is the more important point here. imo.

I guess I’m okay with this. Weed is certainly less harmful than alcohol. As a 12 stepper, I sure won’t be partaking. But hey, I don’t see this as a huge deal. In fact, the W.O.D. has been the ‘justification’ for the Police State we find ourselves under.
