And if there is one candidate who is the anti-Hillary, it is Marco Rubio. Let me list the reasons.
Youth
This is the most obvious contrast one that Rubio is pushing to the hilt. Rubio is young. Clinton is not. At CPAC, when asked to say the first word that came to mind when he thought of Clinton, he said, "Yesterday."
Historic-ness
You can already hear the left-wing inevitability noise machine: Oh, how historic it would be to elect the first female president! But of course, there is also something historic about Rubio's candidacy: he would be the first Latino president of the United States.
Wealth
Clinton is running a populist campaign. She is also quite rich. She got rich through is there a polite way to say this? her husband's post-presidential influence-peddling.
Policy
Republican Party's single biggest predicament is that it is perceived as no longer caring about the concerns of the middle class. In this respect, Rubio is exactly the sort of candidate the party needs: a true conservative who nonetheless understands the GOP's greatest weakness. His ambitious reforms his tax plan and its child tax credit, his wage subsidies plan, his proposals for higher education are all aimed squarely at this problem, as is his opportunity rhetoric. On both the politics and the merits, this is the right response.

Walker/Martinez ticket would just about destroy the Hillary/anybody ticket. That ticket has everything.
A governor with proven executive experience, who has
actually cut taxes, eliminated budget deficits, increased
private sector jobs, and forced government unions to pay
their fair share for health insurance. Then you have a female
governor, who is Hispanic and pro-life.
Works for me.
Rubio is currently in 4th place on my list.
But should he win nomination, which seems unlikely,
you bet I won’t stay home on election day.
I agree that Ted Cruz is an excellent candidate.
But even a gold plated candidate is useless if he/she
can’t connect with voters. Governor walker has shown
the ability to win in a blue state. That shows he can
connect with voters from more than one group.
I will watch closely how senator Cruz does in the
primaries. That could move him to the top of my list.
6 initial primaries seal the fate, with 44 remaining?
Are you very young and had to study the “new” math?
If you read my first post , you can see Rubio is at bottom of my list. In the unlikely event he wins nomination, you bet your bippy I will prefer him over Hillary.
With Hillary you get unrestricted abortions of 7 lb babies,
mass inflow of illegals to be given full amnesty, continuation of failed foreign policy, appointment of pro-abortion liberal judges on SCOTUS which will last for 30 more years.
I seriously hope you do not want Hillary’s agenda.
Not a single GOP candidate aspiring nomination in 2016 has come out and said he/she will deport every law breaking illegal immigrant. When illegals are allowed to stay, it is AMNESTY of some type. And that includes senator Cruz. There is no such thing as little bit pregnant. And there is no such thing as no amnesty unless law is enforced and every illegal deported.
If some candidate declares he/she will deport all illegals, I will immediately move them to the top of my list.
Correct. Conservatives can not win nomination unless they unite behind a single candidate after the 6th primary in South Carolina. Otherwise Jeb Bush will be our nominee.
What jobs governor Walker had? Politics and Red cross.
What jobs senator Cruz had? Politics and government job as solicitor general.
What jobs senator Paul had? Politics and Opthalmologist.
What jobs senator Rubio had? Politics as speaker of Florida house for 7 years.
What Jobs Fiorina had? No political jobs, Only private sector jobs.
What jobs Dr. Carson had? No political jobs, only job was brain surgeon of children.
Glad you bring up 2008 election.
Do you recall Romney VOLUNTARILY dropped out early to eliminate dividing RINO voters?
But conservatives had no such unity. Giuliani, Duncan Hunter, Huckabee, Fred Thompson etc did NOT drop out voluntarily.
Same thing happened in 2012.
Romney had no one dividing RINO voters.
But conservatives stayed in race to the bitter end, unless forced to drop out due to lack of money. Santorum and Gingrich fought to the bitter end, clearing path for Romney.
Will he connect with voters and win some primaries? We will have to wait and see.
Romney only dropped out in 2008 after a poor Super Tuesday showing.
Giuliani, Duncan Hunter, and Fred Thompson were out before Super Tuesday. Ron Paul was the main spoilsport, and Huckabee was the major opponent of McCain after Romney dropped out.
Super Tuesday is too late to drop out. If Giuliani, Duncan Hunter, Fred Thompson and Huckabee had immediately united behind ONE candidate after SC primary, they can defeat McCain.
Why don’t conservatives ever admit they have no unity? Why blame the GOPe for fielding just one strong candidate?
You are seriously proposing that Iowa, New Hampshire, and SC should be the only states that count votes before conservatives unite? Yer smokin’ yer socks.
Besides, your facts are wrong. Giuliani, Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson withdrew in January. Romney withdrew the first week of February. Huckabee was obviously the frontrunning conservative, and he only lasted until the first week of March.
The problem was that the supposed conservatives mostly endorsed McCain instead of Huckabee (the only real stop-McCain candidate).
The schedule in 2016 is different than before,if you have not had a chance to keep up. South Carolina is the 6th primary in 2016. Here is the sequence of primaries n 2016:
IA, NH, CO, UT, NV & SC
Results of these primaries will be a good indicator of who is connecting with voters.
You are not focusing on my main point in 2008 & 2012. Which is that one RINO McCain in 2008, and ONE RINO Romney in 2012 were running against a multitude of conservatives. Why? The reality is, there the electorate is not sufficiently conservative to anoint multitude of conservatives over a single RINO. The reality is there are a lot of so called “moderate” republican voters.
Please do not use tactics of liberals, by focusing on incidental details instead of the main issue.
Let us never forget one word of your post. Romney and all GOP-E are dyed in the wool liberals and a menace to the survival of this republic.
Your big hero got his backside kicked because he was a genuinely worthless candidate. Had Romney been honest he would have primaried Obozo and that would have resulted in Demonrat Tweedledum and Tweedledee with not a dime's worth of difference between them. In that event, there would have been an actual Republican candidate who might have beaten either Romney or Obozo.
That Romney is a Mormon had little to do with his loss. In fact, if he had been a better Mormon, he might have won. Instead, he wanted to violate the tenets of that church by supporting abortion, homosexual perversion and a wide variety of deviations from Mormonism. I am a Roman Catholic and I would gladly vote for a solidly social conservative Mormon. I will never vote for trash like Romney.
Ahhh, but that means four more years of Obozo. True enough but there is still a Republican Party (after Romney's loss) with a very good stable of candidates such as Scott Walker and Ted Cruz and others to defeat the Arkansas Medusa. If Romney had been elected, we would have the same damage to our institutions and standing in the world and NO OPPOSITION PARTY to put an end to entrenched radicalism.
I note that you are not happy with the 2012 result. Too bad. Next time nominate a candidate worth voting for. I do not owe you or Mittens my vote. You have to earn it the old fashioned way by nominating a conservative even if that gets Wall Street corrupticons and Chamber of Commerce whores' undies in a bunch.
Start aiming some of those (all of those?) adjectives in the direction of the money changers who infest our GOP temple. You are good with adjectives but Windflier is a lot better with the facts of Romney's miserable but well-funded and fraudulent existence.
It appears that my happiness is directly proportional to your misery since I refuse to check my principles at the door to vote for trash like Romney. So be it.
Bull crap. They will do no such thing. They’re as hard-headed as you are.
