On Monday, our managing editor Javier Manjarres was on NewsMaxTVs Americas Forum along with the host of The Agenda, Ari Rabin-Havt discussing Illinoiss new religious freedom law as well as candidates thinking of entering the presidential race.
When it came to Illinoiss new religious freedom law, Americas Forums host, J.D. Hayworth pointed out Barack Obama voted on a similar law when he was a state senator for Illinois and asked why he was suddenly against it now.
Rabin-Havt said the laws back in the day were expected to cover the same thing. He said it was to protect religious beliefs for people for example:
if a Catholic wanted to have ashes on their forehead during Ash Wednesday in the workplace, you couldnt discriminate against them.
He went on to say the laws were not intended to discriminate against the LGBT community.
Manjarres said in response:
Lets go back to 1993 when the federal religious freedom act was first introduced into legislation by then Democratic Congressman Charles Schumer and signed into law by then Democrat President Bill Clinton. The Supreme Court has used that as a standard for the past ten, twenty, thirty years, however long it has been and they havent had a problem with it, havent found anything wrong with it.
He continued to say the states laws actually supersede federal laws.
Next, they discussed Carly Fiorina announcing she was over 90% sure she would be entering the race for president.
Manjarres was asked what kind of chance he thought Fiorina has in the presidential sweepstakes and he said:
Look, I do not put anything past anyone. This is politics, its very fluent. She has just as good of a chance as anyone else I think.
He also said:
God bless her for taking the dive.
Rabin-Havt felt she was definitely not the candidate for the job and highlighted some of her mishaps in the past as a CEO. He also said:
If thats the candidate Republicans would like to run for President, go for it.
They also discussed if Ted Cruz has enough experience to be President.
Rabin-Havt said:
I think these experience questions are kind of strange considering our greatest President, Abraham Lincoln didnt have much experience entering the oval office and became our greatest President.
He went on to say:
You cannot have the experience of being the President before being the President.
Manjarres said he thinks Cruz will be a thorn in the sides of Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio and he will be the dark horse of the Republican side, also adding that he believes that the liberal Democrats will prop up Secretary of HUD, Julian Castro, to run for president in 2016.
You can watch the full debate here.
Chenney had a pretty good idea about what is involved.
Of course.....BHO is hard to refute in terms of complete inexperience.
The only “experience” and “concern” trolls we are seeing are RINO politicians, pundits and MSM trying to hock up a Jeb Bush Loogie-for-the-Win.
