Paul Begala who, along with partner James Carville, served as chief strategist to Bill Clintons 1992 presidential campaign, did not want Al Gore on the ticket. I was not for Gore, Begala told Bill Kristol recently. I dont think he knows that, so hopefully he wont watch this tape.
Begala went on to discuss playing George W. Bush in 2000 debate prep for Gore: I kicked his ass, Begala boasted. I watched all the tapes of Bush, and I think, as he would say, they misunderestimated him.
At least some of the blame, Begala says, belongs to Bill Clinton, who helped clear the primary field for Gore (only Bill Bradley would challenge him). I think thats part of what bred the overconfidence going in to face Bush, Begala argued.
Turning to more recent news, Begala told Kristol he would not count out Ted Cruz for the 2016 Republican nomination, explaining that He has Barack Obamas education and Sarah Palins politics.
Watch the whole thing here:
(VIDEO-AT-LINK)
It seems like Tom Cotton is being pushed as *somebody’s* VP these days...
That little weasel is in Israel right now trying to defeat Bibi.
He has Barack Obamas education and Sarah Palins politics.
Hah! Ted Cruz was well known to be on site at the universities he purports to have attended. However, does anyone really know Barack Obama’s education?
Unlike Barack Obama, Cruz would actually show up for class.
Paul Begala: The man that said the Clinton’s were the most honorable people he ever met
Ohnoes! Ted Cruz is an affirmative action dolt? And a Choom Gang doper? Who got a bunch of financial aid as a foreign student, and college cash under the table from the Saudis?
Say it ain't so!
Paul Begala is a pathological liar.
We done here!
And Alan Dershowitz (my favorite lib) says Cruz was very intelligent in his classes.
The week before the election in 2000, it looked like Bush would win easily. Then the media sprang the 24-year-old DUI story and hammered Bush over it all weekend long. That may have cost Bush several million votes.
IMHO, I believe we can bank this— that Paul Begala intends to hang Sarah Palin around the neck of one Ted Cruz, since Cruz is too shrewd and talented to ignore. Any Tea Party influence will also be branded with Palin.
The Dems have to try to influence and capture the broader GOP Republican and Independent voter field who are unimpressed with Palin conservatives. They must define Cruz before he can define himself, before he can begin to expand out of the conservative field and into attracting the general election voters.
This is why the Left have kept Palin alive all this time, covering her worst moments, in their irregular but steady media reports, purposely to use her at election time to blow off all the conservative Republican candidates, by linking them up to her. It certainly is very early for hand to hand combat, but when Begala pops up, you know the games have begun.
It really wasn’t because, “she lives in their heads”, but for her usefulness as a political tool for the Lefty and GOP opposition to conservatives.
Begala in this interview seems to signal democrats to go to work for those Independent and GOP voters by marginalizing Cruz and ALL other conservative primary contenders, branding them with the name of “Sarah Palin” and “her” Tea Party.
Begala will push this theme to keep Cruz from breaking out in our primary, or any other conservative breaking out. Divide and conquer has worked before.
Someday I have to hear someone who can articulate what is wrong with Sarah Palin other than fairy tales made up by the national media.
She ran a successful profitable crab business; raised her family; ran a local government; was elected governor of a relatively complex political state.
She was a successful governor working out significant business accommodations with the very large industry that made up most of her tax base and provided many of the significant jobs in state. In the words of a Liberal Democrat San Francisco lawyer who represented the state in litigation, Governor Palin was one of the most prepared and effective clients with who he had been involved in over 30 years practicing law.
She resigned as governor? Sure. Her political adversaries were well capitalized Liberal Democrat elite who were concerned that she would remain a national political force after the 2008 election (which she did). Unlike her adversaries, she did not have a base of inherited money and establishment money from which to defend herself so she couldn't' continue to do an effective job as governor and provide for the successful defense of the legal claims which were asserted against her which successful defense she actually accomplished.
In her spare time, she created a successful business and professional activity that has supported her own future activities and her family.
She didn't go to Harvard? Is that really a requirement?
Exactly what is the real rap on Sarah Palin?
It isn’t just Sarah Palin per se, but also the Tea Party itself, and the over all conservative moral, political and economic philosophy.
Honestly, I think it is because she embodies all of the above and they embody her, but she never had a political machine around her to sustain herself. Certainly no Party apparatus was ever in sight for her use, and her fans never had the numbers even in the Republican Party to make a machine for her.
The Left and their media paint all things conservative as Neanderthal thinkers, unsophisticated, uneducated and self-righteous boobs from Clampett country.
I don’t think with the high intellect, exclusive education and extraordinary background and accomplishment of Ted Cruz, they can pigeon hole him so easily, but they intend to try, and he better get a money hedge built around him soon. He needs a “war room”, before all the big money is vacuumed up.
Looks like the old Clinton Crime Family capos are turning out in droves these days. We’re seeing them all over the MSM.
Check out this thread and photos to see what they think is sophisticated, including inappropriate advances on small children.

If that is sophistication, I think I’ll continue to live in the back-woods with my old pickup truck, and hound dogs.
EXZZZZactly.
Someday I have to hear someone who can articulate what is wrong with Sarah Palin other than fairy tales made up by the national media.
Check out # 12.
Thanks, David.
She has others hang the title, “quitter”, around her neck. But the fact is Democrats are not honorable people and make-up charges just to harass Conservatives.
However, we shouldn't ignore the Lo-Info "Conservative" voters, either. Since the Left has iron control of the media and academia on all levels from K through Graduate School, our low-info voters are going to be in the spotlight much more more than the tattooed fatties over in the Wal-Mart parking lot, or the Obamaphone-toting, $400-EBT, Section 8 Baby-Mommies and Daddies of Ferguson.
Many of us who support Palin are subject to a great deal more scrutiny than those who support Obama. Fact of life. Someone who has unknowingly cast 10 votes for Obama won't be called on it. Some one who thinks Palin (or Cruz) makes a great deal of sense but may not express it in proper newscaster-ese will be.... or if one thinks queers are queer.... or that the concept of gay "marriage" is absurd.... or that illegal aliens ought to be sent back where they came from, etc. etc. Conservatism is counter-culture and will pay the price.
Socially, we can handle it, I"m sure. Our real job is to make sure we don't pay the price at the ballot box and get outvoted in election season.
Thanks Lucy and David.
To me it's the Problem isn't the Democrats. The Liberals are our enemies no matter what, it the people "on our side" who push the lefty meme's and do their work for them that are the Real Problem.
Not just with Sarah, (But I have seen some of the most vile Palin Hate Fest come from people on the Right) but with Conservatism in General.
It is because those people are cowards and not real leaders, Sunshine Patriots who scamper to the back to sit down at the slightest criticism or risk.
