Paul Begala who, along with partner James Carville, served as chief strategist to Bill Clintons 1992 presidential campaign, did not want Al Gore on the ticket. I was not for Gore, Begala told Bill Kristol recently. I dont think he knows that, so hopefully he wont watch this tape.
Begala went on to discuss playing George W. Bush in 2000 debate prep for Gore: I kicked his ass, Begala boasted. I watched all the tapes of Bush, and I think, as he would say, they misunderestimated him.
At least some of the blame, Begala says, belongs to Bill Clinton, who helped clear the primary field for Gore (only Bill Bradley would challenge him). I think thats part of what bred the overconfidence going in to face Bush, Begala argued.
Turning to more recent news, Begala told Kristol he would not count out Ted Cruz for the 2016 Republican nomination, explaining that He has Barack Obamas education and Sarah Palins politics.

The Left seems able to shame many on the Right away from their civic duty: voting! They actually seem to convince many that conservative views are socially unacceptable. They do
....scamper to the back to sit down at the slightest criticism or risk.
We will make headway when we have the House.
We will make headway when we have the Senate.
We will make headway when we have the Presidency.
We can't do anything until then.
BUT then the excuse come "Well we COULD do that, but that would hurt our chances for 2016, 2020, 2024, 2028"
An Endless stream of excuses.
It then becomes obvious that they are not Conservatives in the first place.
In the 60's, when the Democrats that DIDN'T hate America jumped ship to the Republican Party, the brought their big government ideas with them.
Today we have the Communist Party V.S. The Party of "We want to run the Governments Budget".
Nowhere is the idea of Rolling it back even considered.
Thanks, KC, you are precisely correct. :)
Personally, I believe our country is entirely in the hands of God and all the political anxiety in the world changes nothing, really. Even the internet keeps us occupied, distracted, but certainly away from our prayers. We are anxious, but we’re not ashes and sack cloth prayerful. Not yet.
