Slate reports on the King of Insanity in the Senate
After Benjamin Netanyahus speech Tuesday, Sen. Ted Cruz held court for a glut of reporters in Statuary Hall, and his response to the Israeli prime ministers message was unequivocal: The current situation with Iran, Cruz said, is just like the run-up to World War II.
The deal being negotiated today is reminiscent of Munich in 1938, the slow-talking Texan said, referring to the Munich Agreement that let Nazi Germany annex part of Czechoslovakia. And when the administration comes back to America and promises peace in our time, we shouldnt believe them now any more than we should have believed them then.
Comparing the Obama administration to Neville Chamberlain, the British leader whose historic legacy is that he tried and failed to appease Hitler, is quite a strong statement. When a reporter asked Cruz if today was really comparable to the rise of the Third Reich, Cruz said, Yes.
There is one threat, and one threat only, on the face of the globe with the potential to once again annihilate 6 million Jews, Cruz continued. A nuclear Iran poses an existential threat to the nation of Israel, thats what Prime Minister Netanyahu has told us.
Cruz went to even greater lengths to be crystal-clear.
It is worth underscoring that the word existential does not mean a Frenchman in a black beret chain-smoking, he said. It means going to the very existence of the nation of Israel.
I asked Cruz if he thought Israel would likely be destroyed if the presidents deal with Iran got finalized.
If this deal is implemented, it will lead, ineluctably, to Iran acquiring nuclear weapons, he said.
What the Obama administration doesnt understand is these are radical Islamic zealots who have pledged global jihad and have openly stated their desire to murder as many Jews and as many Americans as possible, Cruz continued. And if history teaches one lesson, it is that if somebody tells you they want to kill you, believe them.
Well the old school name for Iran was “Aryan”.
Did this cause John Kerry to begin hyperventilating, followed by decent into a deep coma?
Cruz is spot on with one exception.
Chamberlain did not have a positive leaning towards Hitler or anything he stood for.
Lefties hate the truth.
Neville Chamberlain was probably a hundred times better person the Obama. Maybe a thousand times better.
KKK?
Well, the good senator knows very well that he and his loved ones are in for this abuse. They are in our prayers
Where's Joe Biden in the article ?
I believe Senator Cruz would prefer the term "American"
Did the article actually use the “word” KKKlassy? If so, what the hell is that supposed to mean? Even if you disagree with Cruz’s views on the extent of the Iranian threat, what on earth does that have to do with the KKK?
Go look. I don’t change or make-up titles, except to shorten them when need be.
To answer my own question, yes, the article uses the term “KKKlassy.” What utter sleaze, to somehow equate criticism of Obama’s Iran policy with support of the ideals of the KKK. Ass****s.
Neville Chamberlain didn’t love Germany more than Great Britain. So any comparison between Obama and Chamberlain is misplaced.
My point was that there aren’t too many Hispanic Klan members.
I can almost understand Mr. Chamberlain’s attitude. They lost a LOT of people in the Great War.
Thanks.
Ayrian in Farsi is IRAN. The writer has things in reverse.
Some FReeper also consistently points out that 0bama’s all in on gearing up his Nat C’s.
Stay CCCProgressive; UK communist paper compares Ted Cruz to racist organization.
Chamberlain screwed up but Churchill kept him as a key player through the war.
