I’m for no subsidies at all, and stop using food as fuel.

I have to admit that Cruz is the only one that is a true conservative and apparently the only one who is real.

I will give him as much $$ as I can.

He’s the most principled candidate out there. If John McCain hates him, then I love him.

Cruz it or lose it. The closest thing to Reagan we’ve seen in a very long time (close, I said).

Agree that Cruz is the top of the line candidate in all aspects.

Still doesn't make sense to try to destroy the field yet (unless Jeb and Chris are the targets).

It seems that every time a new topic comes up, folks waste no time trying to destroy Walker with the new "litmus" when we have so much time and so many unknowns leading up to the actual primaries. It's like a vampire hunter throwing away 1000 rounds of ammo and only keeping the last silver bullet round in his arsenal. Then the opposition throws a vampire and a couple mortal minions his way and all those wasted rounds, which might have saved the day, have truly been wasted to his demise.

If the 2016 Republican presidential nominee is a RINO, a demonicrat traitor will be elected and the demonicrats traitors will retake both political whorehouses of Congress.

Ethanol from corn is crack cocaine for Iowans.

It does not good, only harm, and Iowans feel they cannot live without it.

There must be more to Cruz's statement than what was in the post because he did not articulate a position.

He offered a little red meat to the crowd about lying politicians and everyone went 'OOOOOHHHH' he tells the truth.

Frankly I don't see it.

I am not anti-Cruz. I am skeptical about what job he is qualified for. Maybe SCOTUS or USAG would be good.

Truth telling is important in both those jobs as we have been shown without any possibility of doubt.

“But this guy has demonstrated the kind of intestinal fortitude that is far too often lacking in GOP leaders, and he certainly showed those qualities once again in Iowa.”

His answers don’t change according to who he is talking to. Have we had another presidential contender like this since Reagan? Both he and Cruz give honest answers and explain why and try to show the other side the error of their ways. As Cruz said, it’s not the easiest route - but it is the only honest and trustworthy one.

Ted Cruz may not tell you what you want to hear but he will tell you what he really thinks. He will tell you the truth.

The truth is that corn is the least efficient way to make ethanol of any natural resource. It is way more efficient to make ethanol from sorghum, sugar beets and many many other sources. Corn should be grown for food for us and for the livestock that produces our meat. Oh wait I forgot they are doing away with meat so never mind.

Walker's endorsedment of an ethanol mandate is particularly offensive to broke, unemployed, underemployed, and employed Iowans who cannot find a job because the Corn-Welfare-Queens hire only illegal invaders.

This means OUR TAX MONEY is going to fund the paychecks of unpatriotic, non-citizens who work illegally in America.

In addition, these illegal invaders' families are collecting welfare program monies, while the poor and famished Iowan families starve and beg for the leftover scraps.

This is collectivism for non-Americans at its best!

It’s really disappointing to see these republican hopefuls pandering to the Iowa voters on ethanol. Every Presidential election, we are forced to go through this same silly exercise in trying to straddle the fence on this issue, and I do not understand why such small states as Iowa and New Hampshire get so much say in who our nominees will be. Corn ethanol is just a bad idea for fuel, as it not only requires more energy to come up with a gallon of fuel than gasoline, but it also diverts corn from food supplies, badly needed across the world.

Now, cellulosic ethanol, i.e., sugar cane ethanol, may make more sense, but in general, I don’t see how we justify subsidies to generate ethanol fuel, except to buy votes in the Iowa caucuses. And, as to those candidates who felt they could not do away with the RFS because it would be unfair to Iowa, well, so what? Some fuels are superior to others from a national perspective, and choices have to be made. Kudos to Cruz for not pandering and holding his position.
