Texas Republican Ted Cruz, bolstering his national network for a possible 2016 presidential bid, named conservative Iowa GOP activist Bryan English as a top political advisor.
English served as director of communications and public relations for the Iowa Family Policy Center (now the Iowa Family Leader), where he was instrumental in the groups efforts to oppose same-sex marriage during the 2009 Iowa Supreme Court battle.
Prior to that, he worked as U.S. Rep. Steve Kings policy advisor and district representative in the first-in-the-nation caucus state of Iowa, where he managed relationships with key constituent coalitions, particularly faith-based and community groups in Iowa. English has also been involved with numerous conservative campaign efforts in Iowa, from local referendums and non-partisan elections, to state legislative races, and congressional campaigns....

Cruz is my guy and will remain so for this reason - he’s a fiscal AND social conservative.
