Glenn Beck suspects that Mitt Romney bowing out of the 2016 presidential race might be the result of a secret deal between him and Jeb Bush, to avoid the risk of both of them attacking each other and fighting for the same supporters while someone like Ted Cruz can capitalize on a split vote like that.
Remember that secret meeting Romney and Bush had this month? Well, Beck figured that was about both men admitting they would kill each other and could both lose to the race to a more conservative candidate. And Beck admitted it bothers him that Bush clearly went and cut a deal with Romney.
What the deal is, hes not sure, be it a VP slot or Cabinet position, but Beck made it clear, I really dont like Jeb Bush for a variety of reasons.

Jeb and Marco are both from FL.
Jebbie has roots in Texas, he can just buy a condo in Houston or something.
If Jeb is the man....count me out..!
Maybe Cruz will win the primaries.
I think Romney may end up backing Christie.
And to make it more interesting, Romney is having dinner with Chris Christie tonight. To tell him to stay out of the race too?
I’m not a Beck fan, but he got one right today.
He said that if conservatives coalesce around Cruz now, we can have him.
That is interesting. If conservatives only have to rid one instead of three hopefully it will be easier.
Not necessarily. I wanted all three of them in the race to split the Establishment vote.
LOL
Not gonna happen. If Jeb's the nominee- It's helloo Hillary.
I guess that’s true. I was thinking in terms of so many establishment votes and so many conservative votes, but I guess mathematically that wouldn’t be good for conservatives in primaries.
We need to pick a good conservative and send people to States to help win primaries.
duh ...a “secret” deal?
how bout they just sat down and made a deal. whats wrong with that?
“Mitt Romney, for all his political faults, is still a highly successful man.”
He is also a good man who made the right decision.
“Political deals are far less common than is supposed because politicians do not trust each other and ego and conflicting interests tend to tug them in different directions.”
That’s my impression too. My take is that Jeb had Mitt boxed in, and was there to notify him it was over, and negotiate the terms of surrender. Probably had Romney’s main donors locked up, and offered to throw him some bone to minimize the blowback from a disgruntled Romney. Mitt does seem a little miffed though.
NY Times and WaPo are reporting that the Romney folks were gauging their support on the ground for the three weeks prior, and found that it just wasn’t what good enough. So their take is that it was a unilateral decision by Mitt.
I hope that the rumor of Romney gunning for Mike Lee’s Senate seat are not true - Romney has established residency in Utah, is royalty in the Mormon Church, and could probably raise over 100 million if he needed to. Mike Lee is up for re-election in 2016.
Orrin Hatch is 80, but not up for re-election until 2018. Perhaps behind the scenes he might have to leave sooner for health (just baseless speculation there). The Governor of Utah is up in 2016.
Romney meets with Christie tonight, and sits next to Govenors Walker and Pence at dinner tomorrow. No doubt politicking hot and heavy.
Did God personally inform Glenn about this triple secret behind the scenes deal?
What disease is Glenn dying from this week?
Good one. Like the tag, I saw Thunders play in a bar in Port Chester NY just a few weeks before he shuffled off this mortal coil.
But it’s serious this time, I think he may have teared up.
Absolutely. The second I heard this news this morning, I knew there had been a Jebbie Mittens convo.
I sure would like to see Jebbie’s Done Deal plans blow up in his face. I hate the Bushes’ arrogance. “See Ya at the bill signin’” is turning into “See Ya at the nominatin’!” And I don’t like it one bit.
