What, exactly, is an "open case of beer"?

Is that 24 cans all with actuated pull-tabs? One can opened?

Is there such a thing as a closed case of beer? Where the cardboard is glued against itself? Im so confused.

Accdg to the article, the case was UNOPENED.

Cruz got a ticket.

==

Was he allowed to continue transporting the unopened case or was it confiscated? The article doesn’t say.

If he was allowed to continue transporting it, why? That seemed to be illegal.

If it was confiscated, what did the confiscating officer do with it? Put it in the evidence locker or share it with his buddies after shift?

The media needs to fully investigate this and the aftermath.

Open case of beer.

Closed case of beer.

Cruz was charged with having a closed case of beer.

We would have to know the dates, but he may not have even been a minor in possession. By 1987 the drinking age in Texas was 21 (it was 18 when I was a senior in high school).

So he may have been an adult under the age of 21 with an unopened case of beer in the back of his car.

Clearly a career ending revelation.
