The Bush family has had its share of disappointment and elation in Iowa and New Hampshire. George H.W. Bush finished a dismal third in the 1988 Iowa caucuses, before rebounding in New Hampshire.
George W. Bush, however, won the 2000 caucuses, only to get thumped by John McCain in New Hampshire.
Now, with Jeb Bushs announcement on Tuesday, a third Bush seems to be preparing to face the demanding voters of the first two states in the presidential selection process, with uncertain expectations. But a chorus of top Republicans in Iowa and New Hampshire said that the former Florida governor may be a more formidable contender in the critical early voting states than is widely assumed....

Then why do you even bother to come here?
Held my nose and voted for Bob Dole. Same with McCain and Romney. Not going to do it with Bush 3, will stay home and not vote.
And who, exactly, thinks Jeb Bush would be a great choice for the Republicans?
NY Times, WashPost, CNN, Time ....
... tells you all you need to know.
*** AND NO open primaries where malicious Dem cross-voters can FORCE this crap on the Party!!!
“Look...you are dealing with big money and they have hijacked the party and its elected operatives if we dont leave the GOP and form a third party we will never get a conservative into the office of the Presidency.”
If you form a third party you will never get a conservative in office as Prez. Never. Tell me, how many times has a third party won the Presidency, hmmmm?
U.S. Elections are a corrupted joke...Whoever knows the wealthiest well connected insiders, bankers, takes the biggest bribes, and makes the biggest promises behind closed doors, wins...
The Bush dynasty will be running their P. Bush el sobrino in another decade or two.
Bet the rent.
It’s started...
All Jeb, All the time
Soon to be known ONLY as “Frontrunner” Jeb
I’ll vote for Jeb if Terry Schiavo does.
Why not Mark Levin?
“AND NO open primaries where malicious Dem cross-voters can FORCE this crap on the Party!!!”
I totally agree with you. Open primaries suck. The states that have them though, won’t get rid of them.
Iowa (being more populated in the East - nearer the crazy Mississippi water (see Minnesota)) is a ‘rat place, on average. Of course a RINO ‘rat would likely do well there, especially if he claims that ethanol should be burned in an IC engine rather than consumed.
Like Rush and Mark Steyn, he’s not a politician and not running.
Palin needs to have a whole room full of trophy heads from her run in ‘08.
Bull Moose?
He should.
I agree with your advice in general, but not because of Jeb Bush. I am starting to view JEB as the Rudy of this election cycle.
Whether or not Rudy could have been a formidable candidate or not last time is debatable. What is not debatable is his unusual strategy of not running until the Florida primary did not work out for him. I think JEB is making a similar mistake to Rudy, but running from the base. I think his results might end up being just as impressive as Rudy’s were when he ran.
Abraham Lincoln, won in 1860. The GOP first ran in 1856 with John C Fremont and lost but won with Lincoln and the Whigs faded into the sunset.

Operative say he’s formidable? Oh, well. If operatives say, then the entire rest of the field should just start wrist-slitting. Any operative who did not say that, well, shucks, they been fired!
Can’t we wait a year before this nonsense?
There really needs to be a revolution against the establishment, but in order to win we need not only a good conservative, but one who has charisma, who will fight and is very, very good on his feet and with his words. My bumper sticker says “Ted Cruz in 2016”...If he decides to throw his hat in the ring, I’m backing him...
The Bull Moose Party is one.
It is time and I can guarantee you I will not vote for Bush. What will happen is there will be 4 or 5 conservatives on the platform to water down the conservative vote and either Bush or Christie or Romney will come out on top. No thank you.....
We need these 4 or 5 on a single platform away from the Christies, Bushs and Romneys. Then we would have a strong conservative ticket.
You need a third party for that.
Who in their right mind would vote for this LOSER???
