Cruz should worry about voters in the midwest. Arizona and Texas are safe GOP for 10-20 years.

I suspect Cruz would respond I am the Americans presidential favorite, his dad and the vast majority of Cubans would say AMEN!

Cubans are fiercely loyal American Patriots.

I suspect that Cruz is not only an American, Hispanic candidate, but probably the smartest candidate we have seen for some time, leaps and bounds smarter than the best offerings coming from the radical Democrat Party.

The author overlooks the obvious.

Cruz ran for the US Senate in Texas.

What do the exit polls say on his popularity with Hispanics?

My guess - at least 60% of them voted AGAINST Cruz.

In New Mexico, 60% of Hispanics voted against Republican Governor Susana Martinez when she ran in 2010.

As to Cubans, and who they vote for, Americans have forgotten that Cubans arrived in two waves.

The first wave, around 1960, was Cuba's professional class and business owners. Most of them could trace their ancestors to Europe. They voted overwhelmingly for Republicans and mostly stayed in Dade County.

The second wave, around 1980, and still going on, was overwhelmingly Hispanic and African, mostly poor, mostly low skill, overwhelmingly Democrat, and many of them re-settled in New York and New Jersey.

I don’t care about his ancestors. I like that he was raised right, loves America and our constitution, and he is one hard nosed dude. He will FIGHT for what is right.

If Ted Cruz runs for president....and I hope he does so.....
I hope his legal name appears on the ballot....
Rafael Edward Cruz. His name should capture a bunch of Hispanic votes (hopefully).
