Cruz ran for the US Senate in Texas.
What do the exit polls say on his popularity with Hispanics?
My guess - at least 60% of them voted AGAINST Cruz.
In New Mexico, 60% of Hispanics voted against Republican Governor Susana Martinez when she ran in 2010.
As to Cubans, and who they vote for, Americans have forgotten that Cubans arrived in two waves.
The first wave, around 1960, was Cuba's professional class and business owners. Most of them could trace their ancestors to Europe. They voted overwhelmingly for Republicans and mostly stayed in Dade County.
The second wave, around 1980, and still going on, was overwhelmingly Hispanic and African, mostly poor, mostly low skill, overwhelmingly Democrat, and many of them re-settled in New York and New Jersey.
The recent Texas elections had high hispanic numbers for the Republicans, too.
