Sen. Ted Cruz has deployed advisers to begin scoping out office space for a potential 2016 presidential campaign, a source with knowledge of the move tells U.S. News.
Over the past several weeks, aides to the first-term GOP senator from Texas have been looking for available real estate in Houston, where Cruz lives with his wife and two daughters.
The quiet decision to begin searching for a campaign headquarters location is the latest indication of Cruz's seriousness about a White House bid.
The first-term senator has totaled more visits to early primary states than any other possible candidate this cycle, according to a U.S. News analysis.
But before you can launch a presidential campaign, you need a place to physically put it.
One person who works for the senator says Cruz has not conducted any polling for a White House bid yet, and will not ultimately pull the trigger until he does so.
"Cruz is a big data guy. He's big on polling, big on data. He's going to want to poll and none of those conversations are happening," the source says....

This is a rare campaign where I would look to go all in. I give a little here and there for Bush, McCain and Romney. This is one to get excited about for once.
Mary Landrieu used to be a real estate agent.
She can help find properties after the Louisiana runoff.
I will raise at least a million dollars or die trying and possibly go door-to-door if I can.

+1. I have met Mr. Cruz and I am convinced he is the real deal.
That'll fit well on a bumper sticker!
Cruz will win states that Republicans haven’t touched in years, ala Ronaldus Magnus.
I’ll bet that that’s not the only thing she “used to be” my friend.
Miss Piggy just called. She wants an apology.
during the 1970’s democrat Jimmy Carter was president. the economy and country were doing badly with inflation and unemployment over 10%, Iran holding Americans hostage etc.. I had lost hope .
Then in 1980 Ronald Reagan became President . And it was morning in America again. Cruz can save America:
I’m feeling kind of froggy today, send her over and I’ll apologize in person. ;^)
My biggest worry is that he will be the ideal conservative, smart candidate but that the media machine will Palinize him. Millions of LIVs still believe that Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her house.
He needs to get out in front of that, but I’m not sure what they are going to characterize him as. Palin was “Stupid Bible Thumping Hick.” It worked.
One thing Cruz has that she didn’t is that he is a member of a Media Protected Minority. One way he could get out in front of criticism is to play that up. Anything he does that is religious should be Hispanic Religious. He needs to start dropping references to things in mild Spanish like “my abuelita always said” (abuelita is basically english here in L.A.). He needs to make it so if they are harsh on him, they might look “racist.”
It’s not that he needs to play up his roots for votes; its that he needs protection from mocking that his roots might provide. Otherwise I fear he gets alinsky scorched from day one.
Palin, Cruz, or LOSE.
Gov. Palin’s husband, children and grandchildren are all Native American/Eskimo. That never stopped the attacks.
Right now, I’m supporting Ted Cruz. There are others I would support in his stead (Walker, Jindal) but as of now, he’s the man.
What’s the maximum campaign contribution to a Presidential candidate?
Yeah, Ted Cruz is this generation’s Reagan...different, but refreshingly similar.
Except the current resident is far worse than Carter, and we’re so much further down the toilet.
At least we have proof that someone like him can get elected and do a damned fine job, thanks to Ronaldus Maximus.
RUN, TED, RUN!!!!
It depends. There are ways to set up a PAC or give to one.
