I'm trying to figure out how Eric could've denigrated Ted Cruz more than he did here, but I got nuthin'.

Romney, friend of Obama, ruined the national GOP,
exactly the way he ruined the Mass. GOP.
He stole from it, and helped the Democrats, his partners.
Today, the GOP is Romney-run and supports RomneyCARE
and ObamaCARE.

You know, the way I see it, unless the GOP candidate is an MSM approved feckless RINO POS, the person will be personally and professionally destroyed. It will be done in the press, and if necessary, in the courts with targeted and selective prosecutions.
Whose going to want to be subjected to that?

I love it.
Let there be a dozen good names out there, getting batted around, discussed, listened to, leaned about, etc.
Today is way too soon to start narrowing the list.

Personally, I find the "intensely disliked on both sides of the aisle" a major appeal, if not
the major appeal for Ted Cruz. Roughly 90% of the ruling class (and I may be conservative here) love their perks and don't really want to change the way business is done in Washington.
And Rep. Paul Ryans budget and policy skills and experience as Mitt Romneys 2012 vice presidential running mate give him bragging rights within the party.
His support for amnesty has torpedoed any appeal he once had with the conservative wing of the GOP. Losing a debate with Joe Biden and being snookered into a one-sided compromise with the dumbest woman in the U.S. Senate have just as effectively destroyed his aura of a brilliant policy wonk.
How smart can you really be if you get rolled by Patty Bin Murray?

But he faces a tough reelection campaign for governor, is somewhat bland and may be hurt by a lingering campaign scandal.
The scandal is a phony "John Doe" investigation that had nothing to do with Walker. Walker's race is tight, because Wisconsin has Madison and Milwaukee, nothing more.

I generally prefer governors to senators. If I could choose the next president it would be Scott Walker but I have doubts he could win. Ted Cruz seems like a good choice as well but he too seems like he’s facing a serious uphill struggle to win an election.
We really need a Reaganesque figure. I don’t see one.

The GOP was bad long before Romney — W and McCain weren’t much to get excited about either.
The party needs to be flushed of Rove, Lindsey Graham, McCain, Jeb, Thad, John Boehner types.

Ted Cruz: But the freshman senator may be too extreme for many and is disliked intensely
by Democrats, liberals, progressives, and RINOs on both sides of the aisle.
There, that's better!

Only 2nd and 3rd tier — because they don’t have many who could be considered 1st/top tier. That says a lot for the Republican party.
Want to win or want another wannabe also-ran footnote in the annals of history of presidential also-rans?
Just nominating another ‘it is his turn’ guy is almost handing the election to the Dems.
So far, it seems 2016 is going to be the Republican Primaries of the Retreads. Most of those 2012 and a few from previous years are hinting. Of course ‘hinting’ means they are checking out the money brokers in hopes of generating some financial interest.
