Both are correct. based on the facts so far, I know my Office would be seriously considering manslaughter/murder charges for the Officer.
Know this. One day those militarized police are coming after you.

Take away the ninja outfits, get rid of the SWAT boys who can’t wait to play with their military toys, and do not allow any ex-military personnel to join the police force until they’ve been successfully integrated into civilian life for ten years.

Rand Paul is a pandering politician. Ted Cruz is a patriot.

Given the racial disparities in our criminal justice system, it is impossible for African-Americans not to feel like their government is particularly targeting them, Paul wrote. This is rank BS. Blacks get away with stuff that whites are routinely shot for pulling. Say what you will about Ron, but he never spouted this kind of pandering garbage.

"And through the lens of Ferguson, Paul said the civil rights and law enforcement communities posture towards U.S. citizens has now reached a near-crisis point. "
Thus it already is between the peeps and the IRS, EPA, BATFE, et. al.

"Given the racial disparities in our criminal justice system" Wonder if Rand has any idea why that's the case?

Paul appears to have taken sides without knowing what, exactly, happened. He is becoming an expert panderer.
Cruz' response limits judgment to only those things known to have happened (e.g., reporters arrested) and otherwise rightly asks for restraint...until we know what actually happened.
Which is the more presidential?

Given the racial disparities in our criminal justice system, it is impossible for African-Americans not to feel like their government is particularly targeting them, How many times in the past 50 years have "WHITE" people in America attempted to redress their grievances against THE STATE by rioting, looting, burning, burgling and robbing PRIVATE PROPERTY?

Paul said that when he was young, he might have smarted off but he wouldnt have expected to be shot. Randy is "acting stupidly." Again.

There is a legitimate role for the police to keep the peace, but there should be a difference between a police response and a military response. The images and scenes we continue to see in Ferguson resemble war more than traditional police action, Paul wrote. Washington has incentivized the militarization of local police precincts by using federal dollars to help municipal governments build what are essentially small armies. He's got my vote.

Rand Paul is a pandering moron. I'm glad he has shown his true colors prior to the 2016 primaries. He wont get my support.
How does Paul explain the injuries to the policeman? Did he smash himself in the face? He fired his gun INSIDE the police car. Only a fool, a masochist, or someone under assault fires a gun inside a car. The blast can deafen a person.
Given the racial disparities in our criminal justice system, it is impossible for African-Americans not to feel like their government is particularly targeting them. - Rand Paul
Given the racial disparities in crimes committed by blacks vs. whites*, the racial disparities in the criminal justice system are JUSTIFIED. When blacks become far more law abiding, those disparities will disappear.
If you buy into this racial disparity crap then you are left with 2 possible resolutions: Either stop arresting blacks for crimes committed, or make legal for blacks only the crimes of murder, rape, assault, burglary, & robbery.

I don’t see why Cruz or Paul, of for that matter Obama, have any reason to weigh in on the Ferguson matter.
