Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) may be the brightest light to adorn the Republican party in many years. He knows how to make the case for conservative ideas, pointing, for example, to the contrasting fates of Detroit and Houston to illustrate the superiority of conservative policies. So its particularly galling to see that rather than train his fire at Obama and the liberal machine that cocoons him, Cruz has become a one-man wrecking ball against Republicans. His most recent foray into sabotaging his colleagues concerned the debt-limit increase.
Because Speaker Boehner sent over a clean debt-limit bill, Republican senators had decided to let it pass with only Democratic votes. Republicans would not be endorsing the Democrats spending priorities, but neither would they be opening themselves to the accusation of flirting with national default. With Obamas political fortunes sinking and several red state Democratic senators in jeopardy, Republicans have a good chance to retake the Senate in November unless they fall into civil war....

As Reagan said Republicans shouldnt be criticizing Republicans in public. I know the litany of thing that McCain, Graham and Boehner have said, done and should have done, but Cruz would be more effective if he could work behind the scenes to get them to move closer to our positions.
This is really a discussion of tactics. Yes, sometimes you need to go public, but that should be done after the private approach has failed.
Yes, let’s just keep quiet while progressive republicans collude with the Dems to pass amnesty. That’s just what they want. Why would you suggest that?
We have had 5 years of failed opposition to Obama. How long should we plan on waiting for the private approach to work?
Most people just don’t pay much attention to beltway politics and don’t realize what liberal Republicans are up to. It’s only when we see bold moves by the likes of Cruz and Sessions that careerist beltway GOPers are exposed for what they are. Then voters are able to make an informed decision on who they support.
She couldn’t have made her dislike of him more clear.

The more these people get smoked out, the better. We’ll all know who was with us when.
These people are sent to Washington to vote on things, as our representatives, not to find tricky ways to get things passed without voting on them.
They really don’t like being held accountable for their votes! The days of the charades are over. We know the game and are watching every move.
Tactically, Cruz has pissed on enough sacred cowflakes to goad the symps into revealing their positions.
It may be that the complicit Republicans are doing more damage to America than the democrats...
I’m so sick of hearing what these inside the beltway types have to say.
Wherever he is, Nelson Rockefeller is grinning. The Goldwater revolt & the Reagan revolution should have done in the GOP-E but they keep coming back. I’ve had it with the establishmentarians; not a dime for the RNC, let the country clubbers dip into their trust funds.
Mona Charen once denigrated married couples without children, and called them mere `vacationers’. Strictly personal but I didn’t care for the superior attitude.
Sen. Ted Cruz for President & success to the Tea Party!
I fear that you might be correct, but I hope the mid terms change that equation.
Yo Mona, ax me if I GAF about the GOP.
Mona isn’t doing too well in the comments section for that hit piece. This is the primary season, we are supposed to separate the wheat from the chaff. Cruz is the threshing machine.
Something is definitely up with this “all establishment hands on deck to attack Cruz” wave.
Enough is enough! Time to post, email, etc these Cruz backstabbers and call them out for attacking Cruz more than they attack those who act just like Dims.
Gonna have to have a ladder to get up to the tops of the poles where the heads are...

Don’ throw me in dat ol’ briar patch!
That’s right Mona baby, lets keep keep electing the same tried and true Rinos and not challenging Rats on issues when it counts, yeah that’s the ticket. < /S >
yer gonna need a bigger boat ..

The GOPe gave us McCain and Romney. How did that work out,Mona? Just keep wring tripe like this, and the fighters will continue to ignore you.
Good.
