Sarah Palin Senate Run Still Possible For 2014 [Video]

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Sarah Palin for Senate might be back on the table.

The former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee could be inching closer to running for US Senate against incumbent Democrat Mark Begich.

Palin appeared on the Fox News Channel today and expressed strong support for Sen. Ted Cruz (R – Tex.) who is leading an effort to remove funding for Obamacare through the legislative process. In July, Palin noted that Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee (R – Utah) and others on Capitol Hill (perhaps including Sen. Rand Paul) need reinforcements to limit the growth of government and cut federal spending, and she expressed similar sentiments today.

Palin also blasted the infighting among defeatist Republican insiders who oppose Cruz’s effort and therefore “capitulate to liberals” on socialized medicine. Instead of Obamacare, she favors a law that is more patient–centered and market-based (rather than government-based) that will in her view provide better insurance coverage for the country.

In an ongoing series of polls, Obamacare continues to be very unpopular with the American people.....

When Palin was Governor, she had the highest approval rating in America.

Period.

Don’t be confused now that it has become more political.

It will be more political.

Don’t be deceived. It’s just politics.

McLame pulled 56% in the 2010 primary against J.D. Hayworth and another candidate. He may be hated on FR but he’s pretty formidable in Az. McCain is 77. I think he’ll be one of those typical senators that goes from the Senate floor to the mortuary.

When Palin was Governor, she had

That seemed to be the problem Alaska folks have - at least the random sample I talked to. She quit and according to them "went Hollywood".

Even simpler concept:

If the Republican Party represents the gamut from pro-cap-and-trade to pro homosexual agenda, what good does it do to have the numbers to control the Republican party?

Another concept not so simple, but damned obvious:

What is time RIPE for when Democrats hate what the Democrat party has become but won't vote for Republicans because they're convinced the Republicans are worse, AT EXACTLY THE SAME TIME that Republicans hate what the Republican party has become but won't vote for Democrats because they're convinced Democrats are worse?

The time is ripe for a third party. What we HAVE are numbers to elect politicians who are dedicated to REDUCING GOVERNMENT. We have those votes in spades among Americans who are sick of BOTH parties but who would never vote for "the other party" no matter what. My Democrat friends who have come to hate Obama, would no more vote for a Republican than I, who hate Romney and McCain and all other governmnent-pushing statists, would vote for a Democrat.

Simple concept: the time is RIPE for a third party. The Republican party is spent, empty, hollow, and loathed. Its reputation has been trashed and permanently destroyed ten times more than Palin's. Palin's image depends on the whim of a fickle populace, which can change on a dime. The Republican party's image alone has established itself completely over the past two decades to mean flaky, waffling hypocrisy, and its guiding principles a total crap shoot.

I’d say her appearance cemented that she won’t run for senate in 2014 or president in 2016.

Too bad.

(I didn’t quite know what to make of her saying she wanted to keep her young children out of the ‘cesspool’ of DC. Not subjecting them to the ugliness of the negative campaigning is one thing, but her tendency to suggest that the heartland working class are more decent than the coastal city dwellers isn’t, well, presidential.)

I’m a big fan of Palin, but I wish she had stuck out the last 17 months of her governorship and that she’d do some kind of global energy policy work, or somesuch, at a think tank or something in these years she’s not holding office.

I was a big supporter of Gov. Bill Weld and a mild supporter of Gov. Paul Cellucci in MA before they both bailed on their governorships early. And that totally turned me off of them, so I can understand Alaskans’ bruised feelings.

I wish she had stuck out the last 17 months of her governorship ...

Do you mean you haven't invested the personal time doing a bit of computer research to learn WHY she didn't?

You think she left the governorship just "because"???????? You think she could have remained there to no very ill effect? Aren't you CURIOUS enough as to the real reason she left to find out for yourself? In this day and age of computers and instant access to a huge range of internet sources that cover all sides, you can get a pretty in-depth balanced idea of what actually happened in two hours of searching and READING. But it does take actual initiative and independent action on your part.

*sigh* "Big fan of Palin." Really?

Yep. I’m a big fan—and I think it was a mistake.

I understand the trumped up charges that she had to personally pay an attorney to defend against, as well as how hostile the legislature had become to endorsing her agenda.

I still think she should have stuck it out, because now it is harder for her to run for president.

I can support someone for political office without thinking that her every action and decision is beyond second guessing.

Since she came out against amnesty as currently being pushed through Congress, there isn’t a single policy issue I disagree with her on. I also think she’s very smart and tough, and of course she’s already contributed a million times to the cause than I will ever manage in my lifetime.

Fair enough! Well said, and apologize for taking you to task unjustly.

I think bowing out of the governership in the circumstances she faced was the right, moral, and wise thing to do. If she hadn't bowed out, the same forces that make it "harder for her to run for president" by pushing the "quitter" meme, would be reversing that and chortling and caterwauling about all time and money and resources she "wasted" on defending herself at the expense of taxpayers.

I like your comment on another thread about unlicensed pit bulls at unlicensed day care centers!!! {^)
