It is understandable that those of us who voted against Barack Obama, the Community Disorganizer, should be upset over his triumph. Like Joe Biden reading an Umberto Eco novel, we cannot help but feel rather listless and disoriented these days. Feelings of vulnerability can very easily transmogrify into anger, so one must never lose one’s sense of humor; apropos, I draw your attention to the New York Times of November 10, in which Maureen Dowd reflects on Mitt Romney’s loss:
“Team Romney has every reason to be shellshocked. Its candidate, after all, resoundingly won the election of the country he was wooing.
Mitt Romney is the president of white male America.
Maybe the group can retreat to a man cave in a Whiter House, with mahogany paneling, brown leather Chesterfields, a moose head over the fireplace, an elevator for the presidential limo, and one of those men’s club signs on the phone that reads: “Telephone Tips: ‘Just Left,’ 25 cents; ‘On His Way,’ 50 cents; ‘Not here,’ $1; ‘Who?’ $5.”
In its delusional death spiral, the white male patriarchy was so hard core, so redolent of country clubs and Cadillacs, it made little effort not to alienate women. The election had the largest gender gap in the history of the Gallup poll, with Obama winning the vote of single women by 36 percentage points.”
Forgive the lengthy quote; writing like that is harder to swallow than grape Dimetapp. Note, for instance, the cliches attempting to pass for edgy turns of phrase: white guys in mahogany rooms with moose heads over the fireplaces. (Aren’t Bentleys more suitable to these images than Cadillacs?) Dowd really knows how to squat over the page and deliver nuggets of wisdom...

Obama’s supporters sure seem to be doing a lot of gloating over their victory. I think (within the next twelve months) they will be singing a different tune when the one who is supposed to make all their dreams come true instead shows his true colors once again and plunges America into more destructive wars of choice in countries we care little about.
And lets not even get into all the deals with the devil Obama will have to make in order to move Washington past the upcoming budget battles. The liberals are going to be positively apoplectic when they see that Obama’s plan for ‘fixing’ entitlement spending looks almost identical to Romney’s plan.
Either ways though, I think we (especially conservatives) should take some time to seriously reassess our values. Obama will never bring America back together, and America is broken. The politics of division has set us at each others throats in a way that cannot be healthy for the our nation’s future.
Conservatives can offer a way back to the ideals and the spirit that once made America a shining beacon of hope around the world. All we need is the right message, and the right messenger.

I now know what it must have felt like to have an entire population shun it’s eyes and turn on a people targeted by the rising ideology of national Socialists out of the mechanisms of envy, jealousy manipulated into hatred and revenge.

Now, get a clue, Maureen. Some of the GOP chose Romney to be the candidate. Most everyone who voted for him who was not already on the bandwagon early on did so because the major alternative was a thieving socialist administration which has such things to its credit as requiring people to buy something or pay a fine even it goes directly against their (non-Muslim) religion, the 'redistribution' of trillions of dollars and not so much as a fighter plane to show for it, and directly and repeatedly demeaning the selfsame demographic you decry.
While the first two are execrable, the latter is no way to win hearts, minds, or votes.
As a matter of fact, with your pandering to the liberals, you have casually slapped all of Caucasian male America in the face (whether we fit your stereotype or not), you racist, sexist, socialist, b*tch.

Perhaps we should vote with the homosexuals who have benefited greatly from tax payer funded research in finding a remedy for a virus spread by sodomy, and siphoned billions of health care dollars away from medicare and medicaid through the years.
Or with the union thugs that raise the cost of everything, and the public servants who make three times their private enterprise counterparts in salary and benefits.
I wonder why on earth anybody would vote against their own best interest.

Ms. Dowd, if you’re attempting to paint this as a racist thing, keep in mind that slick Willie got relatively the same amount of white votes that Obama got.
Hey Dowd - I am a woman who voted for Romney and I wish nothing but the worst in life for Obama and his voters. May they reap what they have sown — in spades. May you all spend your golden years poor and broke instead of the cushy lives you live now.
So as of now we have the ignorati in control of the country. They elect socialists like Obama. They don't read Dowd...most of the ignorati don't read much of anything much less scribblers for the Slimes. So let Mo rant away. She's actually read by very few people. Eventually her meaningless career will stop. She's more to be pitied and laughed at than taken seriously. Radical feminism created the bitter writer we know as Mo Dowd and ruined her life. And the sum total of good she's done for her country is naught. But she'll be wallowing in her misery up until the end taking it out on all those evil, white males who made her life miserable.
