So much for Re-Energized Barack Obama. Gallups seven-day tracking poll picked up its first post-debate day of polling and Mitt Romney added a point to his lead among likely voters. Hes now up 52-45.
Obama did pick up a point among registered voters, but still trails by a point, 48/47. He also went from +4 to +6 on his job approval among all adults, now at 50/44, but that isnt helping much among likely voters, as the rolling average shows.
When Romney took a six-point lead in yesterdays tracking poll results, Washington Post analyst Aaron Blake cautioned to wait for polling after Tuesdays debate to start arriving before assuming who had momentum:
The latest seven-day tracking poll of likely voters shows Romney at 51 percent and Obama at 45 percent, up from 50-46 on Tuesday and 49-47 on Monday.
Romney has steadily gained in the Gallup poll in recent weeks, turning what had been a growing deficit in September into a growing lead since his strong first debate performance. And when Gallup shifted its voter model from registered voters to likely voters last week, Romneys numbers improved even more (among registered voters, the race is at Romney 48, Obama 46).
The new numbers, of course, dont include much or any data collected after Tuesday nights debate. It will take days to determine what effect that might have had.
The last two days that have dropped off the report are two of the last three that were pre-VP debate. Only the data from the day of the debate remains in the seven-day rolling average now. The first few days of that post-VP debate tracking put Romney up only two points, but since Monday the gap has been widening. In other words, this doesnt appear to be a case of a really bad day for Obama dropping out of the tracking data.
From this we can conclude that Biden didnt help the ticket and may have hurt it with his strange, over-the-top performance. And at least the first day of data after Tuesdays debate suggests that Romney did better after this debate, too. Well see whether that trend continues.
The handsprings the mouth breathing leftists were doing after the Romney/Obama-Crowley debate were probably premature, as well.
I'm gonna laugh my arse off in November.
The increase in Romney’s favorability is directly proportional to the increased and OBVIOUS efforts by the ObamaMedia to save 0bama and cover for his lies. Turns out now that the Candy Crowley intervention backfired, regardless what the 0bamaMedia says. The American people saw it for what it was; An attack on Mitt Romney as a diversion from the cover-up at hand.
Obama was only energized because he KNEW Candy would back him up.
“I’m gonna laugh my arse off in November.”
I’m probably gonna cry for a couple of days and *sleep* a few more.
We’re one of the small businesses who have been -crushed- by The Won’s stranglehold and things had been extremely bad for us.
My health has suffered greatly.
I will thank God profusely and *hope* that my mind and body recover.
[and hopefully, our business will pick up, too]
If this goes on throughout the weekend and Ras’ shows an increase, then its about to be over.
But, Romney needs to run like he is 20 points behind.
But, but, but.... I don’t understand. All the idiot pundits said he won big points for getting away with telling big lies. You mean this does not translate into future votes?? How strange ....
But I will laugh my arse off.
Benghazigate. What did the president know and when did he know it? Drip, drip, drip, drip, drip .....
A big bird in every household and a binder on every shelf.
Perhaps the biggest debate question is whether Obama energized his own voting base. He has been trailing his 2008 performance by a substantial margin among white voters, men and women, Catholic, Jew...pretty much across the board. Did his performance encourage any of the 2008 crowd to switch from Romney to Obama or to go to the polls when they have no particular intention to do so, as they had 4 years ago?
I don’t believe he accomplished any of that. Naturally he delighted the media, with some significant help from Croley. But not voters.
LOL
I’m afraid if I do laugh, it’s probably gonna come out as a crazed cackle.
[yeah, I’m that stressed]
;]
Wait till he gets his butt handed to him Monday night. I’m going to miss it live since I will be at the Bears game but he is going to look worse than he has so far.
He is totally set up with Libya and Fast and Furious. The latter is a foreign policy issue.
If I am sure of anything it is that he will.
How about “A big bird in every pot, a Volt in every garage and Solyndra panels on every rooftop.”

The key for Romney seems to be increasing the number of voters who are likely to vote.
IOW, “All you base are belong to us.”
I can’t even imagine how many “transcripts” Mitt will both be conversant in and in poassession of RIGHT THERE AT THE LECTERN for the last debate. Should be a cinch for him to “set up” an inveterate liar like obozo for the death stroke.
Likely voters is the key issue.
