MANCHESTER, N.H. If this is Mitt Romneys idea of a victory rally, one shudders to think what would have happened if he had lost the Iowa caucuses.
The day after his impossibly thin eight-vote victory, the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination flew here for a town hall meeting at Manchester Central High School, where he was to bask in the endorsement of his 2008 arch rival, John McCain.
But the senator grimaced when he was introduced, and as Romney delivered his own stump speech, an increasingly impatient McCain pulled up his sleeve and checked his watch. McCain gave his endorsement address without mentioning Romneys Iowa win until the end. By the way, we forgot to congratulate him on his landslide victory last night, he said, laughing. Romney ignored him.
Then came the questions: First, one from an Occupy Wall Street infiltrator needling the candidate about his belief that corporations are people. A second questioner wanted to know why Romney flip-flopped on universal health care when he was governor of Massachusetts and why he would not increase health-care costs.....

The RNC is so out of touch, it's tragic. We have SUCH an opportunity to confront Obama and his ilk on what they've done to the US, and to offer an alternative, but Nooooooo, the RNC floats "Ahnold lite" in the form of Mittens as the guy. Ew.
I don’t like or support Romney but there is something so condescendingly bitchy about everything Dana Milbanks writes.
I like Milbanks far less than Romney, so I’m labeling this hit piece as more liberal B.S. from the Obama press corps.
McCain always has a personal agenda.
I believe Santorum will begin grabbing all of the anti-Mitt vote after New Hampshire and will beat Mittens like a drum. I just don’t see a way Mittens wins the nomination while being routinely rejected by 70% of the GOP electorate.
An endorsement by McVain should be the kiss of death for Romney! The bigger problem, however, is that Romney is the default candidate. Most conservatives DON'T want him, but they end up defaulting to him because the media has convinced them that he is "the guy" and that all the other contenders are beatable!!
If that's how people vote, we deserve Romney!! C'mon, conservatives, we can do better!!
Great column. Thanks for posting it! I just saw the video of McLame trying to get the crowd all excited. In the background I saw young audience memvers giggling among one another. When he reached the pinnacle of his poor attempt at vibrance, people were reluctantly clapping out of discomfort I suppose.
Iowa got it right: 75 percent unite and say NO to Mitt Romney
Mitt Romney is the Democrats DREAM CANDIDATE because he successfully inoculates Obama from just about all of his most ignominious positions, including Obamas biggest weakness OBAMACARE.
ROMNEY would be unable to criticize Obamas worst positions with any rectitude from Abortion, gay marriage to Obamacare because Romney has supported ALL OF THEM. Inoculation at its finest.
(My video comment)
I like a bad case of shingles better then I like Milbanks and his ilk.
And here I thought the only thing Mitt was good at was being in control!
Gearing up for McCain II
lol deja vu all over again
LOL. McCain’s endorsement ought to bring in a lot of Republican support. (/s)
Nothing like adding last cycle’s loser to your roster. Mmmm, smells like...defeat.
To all: You dont have to like Mitt Romney to hate Dana Milbank. This article is a filth rag from beginning to end and just a good example of what will be done to whoever is the eventual GOP nominee.

I concur.
Your probably right about Milbank but I heard part of Romney on a Radio interview and I could not listen to Romney with that Phony Laugh after every question, the Guy is a Phony right from the Greasy Hair down
I think the article is telling... very telling.
Newt... listen...you don’t need to go personal with this guy. Be cool, be yourself...stick to the issues... go after Obama. This guy is a light weight. He is no more qualified to lead this country than I would be....
IMHO
Dana Milbank is Alan Colmes, only light in the loafers. VILE and EVIL.
Same old McCain, crossing over.
The problem for Santorum is going to be Fla.
Mittens has been blitzing the state with ads and other mailings.
It’s a large state and hard to campaign there. Santorum needs money and lots of it. Stopping in at coffee shops to meet and greet will not work in Fla.
So if Mittens wins NH and Fla....
