Sarah Palin: Congress Rife With 'Entrenched Corruption'
NewsMax ^ | November 18, 2011 | David A. Patten

Former Alaska governor and GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin blasted rampant corruption in the marbled halls of Congress Friday, calling it an “endemic problem” affecting both parties.

“The only solution to entrenched corruption is sudden and relentless reform,” she wrote.

Palin’s remarks came in an op-ed column in The Wall Street Journal, in response to revelations this week that Congress has exempted itself from the prohibitions against insider trading that all other Americans are subject to.

Under current law, members of Congress are free to profit off of equity swings tied to pending legislative actions decisions they are privy to as members of Congress.

The Center for Responsive Politics has determined that 47 percent of all members of Congress are millionaires. This compares to about 1 percent of the population generally.

“How do politicians who arrive in Washington, D.C. as men and women of modest means leave as millionaires?” Palin asks in her column. “How do they miraculously accumulate wealth at a rate faster than the rest of us? How do politicians’ stock portfolios outperform even the best hedge fund managers?”

Palin’s answer: “Politicians derive power from the authority of their office and their access to our tax dollars, and they use that power to enrich and shield themselves.”(continued)

You seriously believe anyone in the Republican establishment has threatened the life of Sarah Palin? Really?

Since you asked nicely, I certainly shall.

I’m out. Have a great evening!

Tell me how it sucks, I'm interested.

LOL, as an agent provocateur you're supposed to lead people on and incite them, like you were in your previous posts. You're not supposed to flat-out ask them to be upset about your troll agenda! That's just crude. C'mon, you can do better. Try again.

You seriously believe that's outside of the realm of possibility? Really?

If so, I'm laughing at you.

I’m curious. When people say Governor Palin couldn’t beat this current field, does the phrase “this current field” refer to some hypothetical field, a fantasy politics team if you will? Or does it refer to the assembly of real live (and unfortunately deeply flawed) people who are currently declared candidates for the job?

I agree with Sarah. I’ve never seen this much corruption in Congress in my life.

And we thought the check-kiting scandal of the early 90s was bad!

“she is the most concise and incisive writer on the political scene”

Add to that thinker and doer and fiddle around with your adjectives so the two additions fit nicely in your new sentence.

I will say it again we need to persue these criminals for thier criminal activity and the crimes committed against the American tax payer. I will gladly accept my tax dollars to be used to prosecute these bastards, force these criminals to use all thier stolen loot to defend themselves in a court of law beat them into poverty and then lock them up. No individual or individuals can go up against a commission funded by the ever so happy tax payers with an endless stream of cash. lets geter done!

Sitting back stage in SF in 1976 after playing the last note of the Last Waltz with The Band, Bob Dylan, asked about his former backup band’s finishing their spectacular 16-year run in the rock and roll rumble, told a reporter, “It’s only been 15 minutes and I already miss those guys.”

Sarah Palin hasn’t been gone very long from the rough-and-tumble of a possible presidential candidacy and I feel just like Dylan did about The Band. It’s only been a month or two and I already miss her.

She’s just the best.

This such an IMPORTANT and WINNING issue!

Average Joe can digest the essentials and draw correct conclusions quickly. This is old fashioned GREED/GRAFT on display.

It is the US GOVERNMENT that is the DISEASE. Specifically the US CONGRESS.

OWS is railing against the SYMPTOM: Mega Corporations feeding at the Federal Gov’t trough.

But the disease is the Congress of the United Sates that fills the trough to attract the PIGS!

CONGRESS MUST BE DE-CONSTRUCTED!

Legislate congressional perks/protections/privileges into oblivion. Watch the RAT-Lawyers flee the ship as CITIZEN/PATRIOTS right the vessel.
