Pawlenty: Palin qualified to be president (GOP Debate)
The Hill ^ | June 13, 2011 | Jordan Fabian

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) made the first and only mention of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), praising her and saying she is qualified to be president.

Pawlenty, the former Minnesota governor, was asked who made the better choice for vice president in 2008, Obama by choosing then-Sen. Joe Biden or Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) selection of Palin.

The Minnesotan originally focused his comments on Biden, criticizing his Iraq policy, but then turned to praise Palin.

"I think Gov. Palin is a remarkable leader, she is more than qualified to be president of the United States," he said.

Palin, a potential candidate who could shake up the race, was not present for the debate and was hardly mentioned by the moderators or the candidates on stage.

They'd all be smart to follow his lead.

Dick Morris says it’s going to be Romney, Pawlenty and Huntsman (whoever he is) vying for the RINO faction vote vs. Bachman, Cain, and maybe Santorum for the “grassroots” voters.
And he says it’s going to be great fun to watch that battle play out.

What’s going to REALLY be fun is to watch him, BO Reilly and the rest eat crow the day after Palin announces and blows all the above off the map!

Bachmann jumped in today - did anyone even hear a splash?

Qualified to be POTUS - Well the sadly reality is, since Obama has been elected to the office.....virtually about 50% of this Country (or more) is qualified to sit in that office now. Obama lowered the bar of substance to hold that office that will only hurt this great Country in the long run. That can't be undone.

NPR seems to be placing enormous emphasis on Huntsman and Romney. I can understand (but not support) Romney as a leading name in the eyes of the MSM. But Huntsman? No one knows him. He's Class-B Romney, that's all. But they are pushing him.

Once again, the media has selected the Republicans who cannot win and has crowned them as our front-runners.

I think the MSM is pushing someone like Romney or Hunstman not because they though these people cannot win, but they think it’s fine even if one of these guys win because he won’t get too much of a different president from if a Dim wins.

They love Huntsman because he’s way to the left of Mitt Romney, and that’s certainly saying something. The guy was a long-haired hippy son of privilege who dropped out of high school.

Why else would the media love him so, even though nobody ever heard of him? Or why else would Obama have chosen him to be his ambassador to Communist China?

Bachmann’s performance tonight, IMO, was Bush League. Shallow talking points. Annoying laugh and mindless jokes. Her opening statement was a pandering steaming pile. Honest to gosh, the more I see her the less impressed I become.

its the same reason why the right prefer a hillary over obama, because she’s slightly right of obama. Most of the candidates in gop are left of Palin

ROFL... She wasn’t even there, and yet, she was!

How cool is that. A force to be reckoned with, for sure.

“i noticed Mitt couldn’t bring himself to say anything nice about Palin. bad blood there.”

Looking at some of the youtube clips of various debates and exchanges in Massachusetts, Romney shows flashes of being a really vicious, nasty SOB. One such flash in ‘08 put me off of him in perpetuity. This nastiness is independent of his policy and integrity failures, which are completely different and additional reasons to dislike them person.

Meant to say of Romney:

“This nastiness is independent of his policy and integrity failures, which are completely different and additional reasons to dislike the person.”

All the more reason it should be defunded.

yeap but the sad fact is if the field doesn’t change form what was on the stage toninght Mitt will be the nominee. those other 6 idiots could fight their way out of a wet paper bag. Not one laid a glove on mitt. why i have no idea. Cain should have been going after mitt all night. So should have timmy and bachmann. yet none did. either the fix is in or they are all cowards. the fight is not just about Obama but for the soul of the party too. i think if Palin or Perry doesn’t get in mitt will win the nomination and Obama wins four more years...
