Palin to Visit Iowa, South Carolina Using New Political Model
Yahoo! News / Associated Content ^ | June 1, 2011 | Mark Whittington

According to Real Clear Politics, Sarah Palin has found her history tour of the American northeast so successful that she will soon take similar bus trips to the Midwest and American south.

Just by coincidence, the Midwest trip would end up in Iowa and the Southern junket will end in South Carolina. Iowa has the first national party caucus and South Carolina is an early primary state which votes soon after New Hampshire.

Clearly Palin is conducting a test run of what may be the most unusual presidential campaign in recent American history. She means to bypass the Republican Party establishment, including the cadre of precinct chairman whom political candidates usually cater to, and take her case directly to the voters. Many pundits regard this as a mistake and even a sign Palin has no intention of running. The party apparatus is considered crucial for creating on the ground organization that a candidate needs to get out the vote.

Palin may be thinking of a different model, one that seems to have worked in the past two or so years to shake the political foundations of the United States: the Tea Party movement.....

Some people will never see that which they chose not to see.

I am simply undecided. It’s just not acceptable on Palin threads to express anything short of a Palin coronation, and I don’t coronate. I want to hear how our candidates take the heat. Hells bells, I don’t think the media even really likes Obama, but they want to hear some form and substance against him from our candidates, and expressed with precision and confidence in their own knowledge. It’s dang easy to be courageous in front of the choir. I wanna see our candidates strafe the enemy beach on their own terms. Did I spell that right? Oh well. You know what I mean.

that avoids scrutiny, accountability, responsibility and conflict?

You're talking about 0bama aren't you. You know the guy the media has failed to scrutinize, hold accountable or responsible and carries his water whenever there is conflict.

As far as Palin goes she's been savaged by the elites in the media and if she does run she'll do it her way. Damn the torpedoes.

The Governor has already said she will not waste her time with reporters who are not interested in an honest discussion of the issues. At some point the MSM hacks will understand that questions like “Who is paying for this tour” will be treated with the disregard and disdain the deserve and maybe some will get serious.

Must respectfully disagree. This MSM wants to box in all our conservative candidates with specific actions to circumstances as they currently exist. That is a trap and all our candidates would be wise to avoid it.

” No matter who your candidate preference is at this point you have to admit that she has the attention. “ ====

One logical conclusion is the media covers only Sarah and wants her for our nominee, to the exclusion of any other, all of whom she agrees with. The see her as show biz now and will never take her seriously since she WILL NOT engage.

The others are unafraid to appear anywhere, any time. So who looks more confident? Valor is courage under fire— not proclamations in choir practice avoiding the enemy.

” I’ve doubted that she was going to run. However, she sees the world changing and is the only candidate who is adapting.” =====

I will be shocked if she announces. I smell fear. I hate it, but that’s what I think is there.

Yeah, because those precinct chairmen do SO much. Why, my local one... ummm.... he, uh, she.... ummm... Well, they're far better than anything that the Tea Party could ever... ummm... and they're far better at making successful grass-roots movements than the Internet... hmmm...

Yeah, those precinct chairmen. BIG mistake to bypass them.

(Hint to GOP: You need us FAR more than we need you.)

LOL Someone posted a comment on another thread that I’m going to steal right now. If Sarah Palin walked on water you and the media would say she can’t or is afraid to swim.

I do agree with you to an extent. I hated it when our own put themselves out there to the wolves like suckers, over and over without discretion and to just about every liberal zealot with a camera. But I do want to see our side take it to them once in awhile, selectively. Can you imagine Chris Christie, Rand Paul, Trump, Paul Ryan types avoiding all tough venues. In these times it seems to me that we need someone who can set their hair on fire. (I mean the liberal media, not their own.) Ha!

Who’s getting more coverage? How many more threads are there on here then any other candidate? She dominates the news, they follow her around like paparazzi, and she has the attention of every news outlet over all other candidates. She’s meeting the grass roots people and setting the stage for being the “return to our successful roots” candidate. She had taken the wind out of the sails of all the other candidates. She has outsmarted every other candidate and the media. No matter who your candidate preference is at this point you have to admit that she has the attention. “ ==========

The media chooses who they cover in wall to wall fashion. If they didn’t want to coronate her as our nominee, well, they wouldn’t be trying to do just that. Wall to wall.

When she goes to Iowa, I hope she visits a historic site that is little known. That would be the site of “The Spirit Lake Massacre, she could point out the hardships and the dangers American’s faced when settling the Iowa frontier.

In 1857, 38 people were massacred at the settlement of Spirit Lake by a band of renegade Sioux Indians, who where so depraved and bad, they had been kicked out and banished by the Santee (Dakota) Sioux. So even the PC crowd cannot say it would be anti Indian for her to visit the site.

Well, she does mention Cristie and Paul a lot.

Is that an example of a non sequitur?

Fear is right. Fear it’s turning more into show biz and not more substance. We can’t both be right, and time will tell. It’s on your devoted dime though. ( I will vote and do the glass thing for ANYBODY BUT OBAMA, though.)

Undecideds are an enemy? Discussion is a curse? A different assessment is a troll? An early Palin coronation is a prerequisite for every poster, though she hasn’t even announced?

I believe all this says more about you than me. More than a few are sick of the group-think-or-u-r-an-imbicile approach going on around here, all over one who won’t even announce—Sarah Palin.

(As you can tell, I’ve been taking heat all day here and there and ‘am a little testy by now.) Heat. That stuff like Sarah avoids by running from the enemy.

I’m getting really antsy waiting for her to announce her plans for 2012. I wish she would just get it over with so we can start raising money for her.

Maybe you need to think a little about the concept of leadership, and what it really looks like when someone is successfully facing down pressures most of us never experience.

But only after you contemplate the idea that the mainstream media is not some sort of trusty pack animal on which we can freely transport our ideas from one place to another, but a scaly serpent whose venom only devours those ideas until all that stands is the serpent’s own lies.
