In terms of handling immigration issues, Cain said he would, first and foremost, secure the U.S. border with Mexico.
I dont buy this malarkey that we cant secure the border, Cain told TheDC. I dont buy this malarkey that we dont want to offend our southern neighbors. Neither this administration nor the previous administration got serious about securing the border. I dont know why the previous administration didnt get serious about securing the border but they didnt.
Secondly, Cain said hed enforce the laws on the books and provide the resources Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials need to secure the border.
Enforce the laws that are already on the books, Cain said. That means providing the resources to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, although I think its misnamed they dont do a lot of enforcement. Give them the resources they need to do their jobs.
Cain said he thinks the term comprehensive immigration reform is an oxymoron, and wouldnt push for changing the immigration process.
For those people that want to become legal citizens in this country, promote the current citizenship process, Cain said. Its not that difficult. Its democratic, its cumbersome, it might be confusing to some people, but if you go look it up, youll see: the steps are not that complicated. What makes it complicated is the bureaucracy that we have surrounding it.

MRN: If elected, how would a Cain administration deal with border security and illegal immigration?
HC: First things first: the term comprehensive immigration reform tossed around by liberals is simply code for do nothing which becomes amnesty.
There are 3 steps to solving our illegal immigration problem: securing the border (we put a man on the moon, so this isnt that hard!); enforce the laws; promote the existing path to citizenship.

Chapter Six: Fix the Immigration Problems
America is an exceptional nation. We are also a prosperous nation because of our liberties and our free market system. Thats why people from all over the world want to come to America to create better lives for themselves and their families, because we are truly the land of opportunity. Americans have embraced their role as the worlds premier melting pot, welcoming immigrants from every corner of the planet. We readily learn about other cultures, customs and beliefs. We appreciate those who are willing to come to this country and make America a more vibrant and enriched place.
Americans do resent, however, the willingness of some to circumvent our laws and enter our nation illegally. While many, if not most, illegal immigrants are peaceful people simply seeking to provide for their families, some are not. In fact, some are quite dangerous, jeopardizing the safety and well-being of American citizens.
Illegal immigration has only exacerbated illegal activity, such as the horrendous crimes of drug smuggling and human trafficking. Illegal immigrants who are repeat offenders are harder to track, making it difficult for law enforcement to prevent crime. Further, weak borders have caused a compounding problem of terrorists assimilating with illegal immigrants, crossing the border with them and entering the U.S.
Illegal immigration also puts a tremendous strain on Americas entitlement and health care systems. Illegal immigrants are typically uninsured and cannot afford to pay for their medical care, driving up costs for all Americans, even those actually insured. In fact, several hospitals in the U.S. have declared bankruptcy as a result of the costs of caring for illegal immigrants.
We must secure our borders, enforce our laws and promote the existing path to citizenship. Protecting our nations sovereignty should be a paramount concern of those elected to lead us, not an afterthought or a reaction once the problem becomes even worse. Further, taking a stand on the issue does not mean one lacks compassion, but instead, that one respects the rule of law and the importance of not becoming a lawless nation.

Since Sarah’s not running, Herman Cain has become my choice for the GOP nomination.
I agree with his ideas. But giving more money to this is not going to get rid of 30 million illegals. Why can’t he round them up and get them out of the country. I do agree with doing the fence first so they don’t come back.
If you enforce current laws that in itself would have the effect of rounding them up. Traffic stops, reporting employers hiring illegals, cutting off federal funds for sanctuary cites and eliminating federal benefits for illegals and eliminating citizenship for anchor babies would be very effective.
Why not pass building codes in the citys that makes it illegal to rent or sell property to illegal insurgents..
Let them DEPORT THEMSELVES.. the same way they got here..
That is you MUST be a legal resident to rent or buy property in that city or county..
Got to have a place to stay..
Soon it would become very hard to "live" in the US without proper documentation..
These codes should already be the case.. they are NOT.. currently..
First, I was not aware that Ms. Palin had announced she was not running for office (tho I agree she will do so eventually).
Second, while I agree with Mr. Cain on most all of his positions, he seems to be an almost invisible "candidate".
In your opinion, how does he gain and hold national attention? I fear he'll remain invisible and will never be able to capture the nomination.
Don’t need to round illegal aliens up.
1. Eliminate the concept of “anchor babies.”
2. Cut illegals off from jobs by provide resources for employers to vet their new employees and fining the hell of of them if they don’t.
3. Cut illegals off from benefits: welfare, education, “free” medical care.
Most of them will self deport.
RIGHT!!
The process only SEEMS confusing and cumbersome to people who have NO intention of assimilating or learning English and who are PREDISPOSED to criminality.
If American citizenship was not WORTH having, it would be easy as pie.
However as it is, the ‘process’ (if properly enforced) IS LESS confusing and cumbersome than reducing yourself to the level of a criminal, validating criminality to your children and looking over your shoulder the rest of your life.
AND IN THE END you get to BE an American
. If THAT is not your goal, stay the h&^% OUT!!!!
Enforcing of the laws, especially employment laws has the same result as ‘rounding them up’, especially if you can get a lot of self-deportations. The math behind an all out ‘round them up’ is staggering. 30 million illegals, lets say your goal is to do it in four years and you have no more coming in. That amounts to almost 21 thousand deportations per day. You would have to find, process, convict, book, and transport 856 per hour. It is a good big goal but the practical effect of how you do this is daunting.
IF, however, you enforce existing laws, it will help you find them quickly. If you enforce employment laws and they can’t find jobs, plus they can’t get on any sort of assistance, I bet most would self-deport out of necessity. We are seeing this in States where there is no employment available, they are leaving for other States. Imagine this on a nation-wide scale.
I agree Palin probably won’t run, and would have trouble against Obama (but I’ll supporter her as the nominee.
Cain, however, gets to the nomination basically by being the last man standing if Palin doesn’t run.
The RINOs/Moderates will split the Establishment vote so much that Cain, as the only “real” conservative in the race (except perhaps Santorum who might get a little early support before dropping out) will, by default, end up on top.
I posted a more thorough analysis a few days ago.
Heres how Cain could get the nomination:
-Huck doesnt run - CONFIRMED
-Palin doesnt run (more likely than many care to admit)
-Trump doesnt run (??????)
-Newt, Daniels, and Romney are in, along with Crazy Uncle Ron Paul and Herman Cain, plus Santorum and Pawlenty and a few others nobody cares about.
Romney with his recent comments on healthcare doesnt have the strength he expects, and basically runs neck and neck with Newt. Pawlenty and Daniels are behind the two, but the RINO/establishment vote basically splits between the four of them, all four failing to break 12% as a result.
Those looking for outsider experience go mostly to Cain. Social conservatives go to Santorum initially, but Santorum makes a surprisingly weak showing in Iowa and drops out.
Cain picks up most SoCons by default with Huck, Santorum, and Palin out of the race. Deficit hawks split between Cain and Crazy Uncle Ron.
Those looking for business savvy go 50/50 to Romney and Cain, but not enough to give Mitt the win. Cain places 2nd in Iowa, second in NH and first in SC.
Cain wins nomination.

MR. CAIN VS THE STAIN!
Two good speakers....one from the heart the head and experience....the other from whatever his teleprompter tells him.
Extraordinary theater!
Looking at your analysis, I think 2012 may be the reverse of 2008.
In 2008, the conservatives split their vote, allowing the RINO/establishment candiate to win.
This time around, it looks like the establishment candidates may split their vote, and the coonservative/tea-partiers may coalese behind a single candidate.
Since she hasn't given up her contract with Fox News, I was under the impression that she's not running. However, I could be wrong; she hasn't made an announcement.
As for Herman Cain, I'd never heard of him until the May 5th debate; he got his first national exposure then, and has since been making the rounds of TV and radio interviews. As time passes, he'll get the full-fledged attack treatment from the liberal media, who will feel the need to destroy any black Republican candidate, so he will certainly become nationally known!
From your keyboard to God's ears!
Ping!
