Sarah Palin's support among Republicans has shrunk and there's no evidence she's close to saying whether she will run for president in 2012.

But it's clear she wants to be part of the conversation.

After seemingly staying on the sidelines this spring, the GOP's 2008 vice presidential nominee is back with public appearances, fiery criticism of President Barack Obama and a strong defense of Donald Trump, the reality TV show host who has raised questions about the president's background without offering any proof of his assertions....

Yesterday, my daughter came in and turned on NBC coverage of the royal wedding. To my surprise, Kathy Lee was hosting the show. I had no idea that she had returned to tv after the hatchet job the left did on her life.

I mention this because it occurred to me that the left are doing exactly the same thing to both Sarah Palin and Glen Beck that they did to Kathy Lee Giffords. The only difference is that they haven’t found a co-operating spouse to join the attacks.

I think she has stayed out of the limelight because she was enjoying the peace and quiet while Trump was taking the heat.

Certainly. They just weren't trying hard enough. /sarc

You see, it's easy for respectful, law abiding, principled people to underestimate disrespectful, lawless, unprincipled people. Indeed, I have known such unprincipled people who considered it a tactical advantage to be "unpredictable," as they called it.

What they do not realize is that once we who are principled have lowered our expectations of those without principle far enough, we will no longer be surprised by anything they do and they will lose their tactical advantage. Let the Republican Congress take note.

Her favorability dips to just 38 percent among the four in 10 Republicans who don't support the tea party. Among those Republicans who do support it, 79 percent say they hold a positive view of Palin.

So in other words 60% of republicans are tea partiers and 40% are RINOs? That's good news as far as I'm concerned.
