How Donald Trump Can Become President
Business Insider ^ | April 2, 2011 | David Seaman

Posted on 04/02/2011 2:28:51 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Donald Trump recently did a rather classy and unexpected thing: he printed out a Business Insider piece I had written about him, wrote some comments on top of it, and sent it to me -- via one of his assistants, of course, but still very cool for a writer to get a handwritten note from The Donald in response to a blog post.

Reminds me of a reporter who told me many years ago she used to get handwritten comments and little "corrections" from Michael Eisner when she wrote articles about Disney for The Wall Street Journal back in the day. (I have no idea if that's true, but either way, it's neat to imagine the busy chief executive of one of the nation's most powerful media companies sitting down with a pen and line-editing a reporter's piece. Deliciously old school.)

Anyway, because Trump did a seriously cool thing, here's some FREE* advice for him on how he can win the presidency, if he really even wants that encumbered position. (Why does advice always have to be monetized, by the way? Overpaid Ivy League political "consultants" who have never set foot in a Wal-Mart, nor flown coach even once, nor enjoyed Bill Maher's favorite substance, even in college -- these cretins should only get to cash those fat paychecks if their guy wins.)

1. You've done a lot of business deals over the years... er, decades. Business can get messy. Everyone in America gets that.

Rather than apologize for past deals, which you would never do anyway, just say what resonates with everyone: "I did what I had to do to get to where I am today." No one except for perhaps some self-righteous MoveOn.org newsletter editor would object to that statement....

How Donald Trump Can Become President

Have every other Republican candidate drop out. Then two weeks before the election have Obama be uncovered as a fraud ineligible to hold the office of president. Other than that I can't see how he wins.

President of what?

Maybe the Charlie Sheen fan club. Nothing more.

I would rather see The Donald give gobs of money to a REAL candidate-it would be nice to be able to outspend the dems for once.

1. Trump must focus every add and every appearance on wooing liberals and moderates away from Obama enough to win in a three way race.

Across the board conservatives will oppose him in the primaries and in the ballot box afterward just like we do Romney, McAmnesty, and Giulliani.

So he has to pretty much generate a strategy only involving Rockafeller Republicans.

I don’t think it will be possible, but that is what he has to do.

I wouldn’t vote for Trump under any circumstances. I don’t trust him. I don’t trust people who flip on pro-life and gay marriage when they decide to run.

Spontaneous post by this writer??? Nah...I'm not buying this stuff ANYmore. Nice PR job though, Mr. Trump. It was a good idea; but the America public is a BIT more savvy to tricks, than they used to be. ---We HAVE to be ...we've got bHo feeding us Baghdad Bob lines every other day!

Seriously, nice try though. ;-)

Oh, and although I'm LOVIN' what you're saying these days....you'll forgive me if I'm gun shy after Perot and ARNOLD.

Don't make this about President Obama... McCain made that mistake, and it cost him an election. Rather than telling us what John McCain believed, he told us why what Obama believed was misguided.
Where was the writer in 2008? On planet Gorp? Here on Earth John McCain did NOT say anything critical about Barak Obama.

What stupid f*ing advice.

No kidding. The pro amnesty king of eminent domain.

He’d make George Bush look like a right wing extremist.

Have to disagree with don't make it about Obama advice.

Make Obama own nations decline and anti-American rhetoric. Obama has been a disaster for the nation. Call him on it.

I don’t know what he thinks but what I think is his advice is a sure formula for losing. Any candidate not willing to take on the massive damage Obama has done to America and the US Constitution, then that candidate is a worthless POS who doesn’t deserve one nano-second of the electorate’s time.

LOL. I hear Obama’s people do this all the time.

The MSM prints a story, and O’s people call up and tell them, no it’s the republicans fault.

And the MSM dutifully corrects. And if not, they may get a call from the O himself.

/All kidding aside, this is why someone with executive experience is a far better candidate than a community organizer. You can’t beat that experience.

When did he flip? I have been researching and I can't find any truth to that statement you just made. Please provide me a link that contains facts as in Trumps own words, not just a statement of what you think you heard.

While “The Donald” wouldn’t be my first choice (West/Cain/Sarah/Bachmann) if he survived the primary crucible and kept speaking plainly,

He said the other day, that as he got older, he changed his point of view on abortion. He’s got plenty o’money and respects it having won and lost billions over his career.

He’s got guts to say what he believes and, like a good manager, SHOULD surround himself with good advisors. It’s the President’s job to set the vision and hire people to accomplish it.

I’d vote for him depending on how the primaries go...
