'Primaries for Palin' Urges Dems to Vote in Primaries-Palin Sure to Get Beaten by Obama, Right?

A Democratic group called "Primaries for Palin" is suggesting to vote in the Republican primaries for Sarah Palin, the theory being that Obama would have a better chance of beating her in the general election.

The "Primaries for Palin" organizers appear to have a point, since current head-to-head polls show former Governor Palin faring less well against President Obama than other potential Republican candidates. Indeed, this effort sounds a lot like the Rush Limbaugh-inspired "Operation Chaos," which had Republicans voting in Democratic primaries for Hillary Clinton to keep her candidacy alive much longer against Barack Obama than would otherwise be the case.

The problem for "Primaries for Palin" is that the organizers are relying on poll numbers that may not be reflective of Sarah Palin's strength in 2012. The Iowa Caucus is over a year away and the general election a year and a half.

Palin's negative poll numbers are indicative of the fact that the former Alaska governor has been exposed in the media more than virtually any other American politician, including, some may suggest, President Obama himself. That has allowed a campaign of negative attacks to bring down her approval numbers before a formal campaign could begin.

The theory being bandied about by some political analysts is that Sarah Palin has nowhere to go but up, which she will be able to do once she is able to make her case in an election campaign. If Palin can effectively make the case for her candidacy, expanding her support beyond her solid base, then she would close the polling gap and make a race of it with Barack Obama in the 2012 general election.

Some have suggested that there is a historic parallel to a Palin candidacy. In late 1978, Ronald Reagan....

Strangely, we’d all be better off if Rush’s Operation Chaos had succeeded in getting Hillary elected. Sure she’s a commie, but I think the Clinton’s are at least Americans.

I don’t get it. Especially if she picks a strong conservative running mate.

The Kenyan couldn't hold a candle to Palin. The Kenyan is the most inexperience person to walk into any room on the planet.

Of course the lefties will argue that he has 4 years experience in wrecking America - right there, but he still had never held a private sector job.

Does that mean that I have to vote in the Democrat primary for someone other than O?

What happens if they succeed and then Sarah sends their boy packing.

Jimmy Carter was happy to end up running against Ronald Reagan. Carter and Democrats thought that Reagan would be their weakest opponent. And do we all remember how the 1980 election turned out???

This may not be so stupid from their point of view. This is exactly what happened to give us Mclame. If I recall correctly he was counted out and came back from nowhere to get the nomination.

There are a lot of us who aren’t sold on Sarah but would have zero problem voting for her in the general election.

Crossover voting in the New Hampshire primary revived McLame's campaign, which gave us Obama.

Thanks, New Hampshire. Thanks a lot.

Stop using the false Reagan analogy.

Palin has negatives in the high to mid-50's in over 15 states including her home state of Alaska.

That is why they are doing this.

McInsane won the nomination by being the RINO and splitting the conservative vote amongst many. My only fear is that that could happen again.

These commie piggies really don’t want any part of Sarah Palin going up against their boy from Kenya. This is just childish bull**** from the little commie piggies.

"I don’t get it."

Quite simply they see running against Sarah as their most likely chance at remaining in power. She is the only other politician that equals, or exceeds, Obama's negative poll numbers.

I believe that they have misunderestimated the situation, and will live to refudiate their actions.
