LAS VEGAS -If Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is re-elected this November in Nevada and retains his leadership perch next year, the embattled Democrat hopes to work more closely with Republicans.
Realizing that there will be more Republicans in the Senate, Reid also said he hopes to have more help from the GOP when the next legislative term begins.
"I think we will," he said in a brief interview with RealClearPolitics. "They will have seen that the tea party charge hasn't helped them much."
He added, "I would hope when we go back that we'll be able to recognize that we need the old Republican Party back so that we work together and get things done. This obstructionism doesn't do the trick."
In response, NRSC Communications Director Brian Walsh said, To hear the author of the Cornhusker Kickback and Louisiana Purchase preach about bipartisanship 12 days before Election Day just reminds every Nevada voter that this is a career politician who will do or say anything to retain his power in Washington. After almost 30 years of double-talk though, Harry Reid is about to learn that the jig is up as voters prepare to send him into retirement.(continued)

If he means “old GOP” as in his fellow retirees at the Home, I’m with ya all the way, Harry!
Yes, because we have all seen how Harry has “worked” with the GOP the last few years. My God how does Reid and the reporters and the people watching and reading manage to just not laugh at what Harry says? It really must hurt Harry’s face to stop himself from laughing, to try to pull off saying this crap with a straight face.
Translation: "God, I miss the days when Arlen Specter and I could snap jocks in the locker room then go make policy on the floor."

Amen John.
By “old GOP” I take it that he means, Murkowski, McCain, Snowe, Collins and Graham. The “reach across the aisle” crowd.
10 more days to victory.
Taking the Senate will be tough, but I was hearing the other day that if Harry loses and the Dems keep the Senate, it will be Schumer in the top seat. Yuck! I would love it if we could get Lieberman to caucus with the Repubs.
We are having closed door meetings, Harry.
What you deserve is being in jail, forced to say the pledge of allegiance and honoring us by having a cup of tea as you last meal, traitor.
Reid Hopes to Work With “Old” GOP if Re-elected

Good grief!
I can just picture McCain pleasuring himself at the thought of this.

Spoken like someone who knows he is losing. Reid can go away and the ‘old’ GOP can go away. May they find rest in the great RINO graveyard.
That is a great pict.
Well, at least Dingy Harry didn’t taunt the TEA Partiers at their rally against HellCare by waving a gigantic gavel at the crowd as Queen Pelousy did. He’s scum, but he’s not the bottom-of-the-barrel scum.
Good one.

Hey bub, we’re voting them out too.
The one thing that really gets me smiling about this election is since we’re voting them out they don’t get to ‘retire’ on the public dime.
From the end of the article: “First of all we have a lot to do in the lame duck,” he said. “I’ve referred to that as the goose on steroids because we’ve put so much over to the lame duck that it’s much more than a lame duck. It’s a great big goose or something like that.”
When they get back to Washington is when the fight really begins. Will Murkowski and Bennett side with the Dems, knowing their seats are gone. What will they hide in their next “save the puppies from the mean Republicans” titled bill?
It never stops with these people. A goose on steroids can do a lot of damage.
