Speaking up for SB 1070 — in California [Carly Fiorina]
The Charleston Daily Mail ^ | July 31, 2010 | Don Surber

Posted on 07/31/2010 7:45:57 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

If anyone is wondering why Sarah Palin endorsed Republican Carly Fiorina for governor of U.S. senator from California, what Fiorina told KPIX in the Sanctuary City of San Francisco about Arizona’s SB 1070: “If the federal government wants to take the point of view that the Obama administration and Attorney General Eric Holder seem to be taking, which is all immigration issues are federal government issues and therefore we will challenge any authority, then they ought to be applying that standard consistently, and they clearly are not.”

Incredibly Kevin Johnson, dean of the UC Davis Law School, does not see a city or a state openly defying federal immigration as being unconstitutional while seeing Arizona’s upholding of a federal foreign policy as unconstitutional.

Via the San Francisco Chronicle, Kevin Johnson, dean of the UC Davis Law School: “It’s apples and oranges. There’s no city that’s saying ‘We’re not cooperating with the federal government on immigration enforcement.’ It’s just different levels of cooperation. San Francisco is cooperating. I don’t understand what (Fiorina) is talking about other than to use slanted political jargon to make political impact.”

Of course he does not understand. He is an idiot.

It’s Alice in Wonderland time in America’s legal system with gents like Kevin Johnson making up the law as they go along.

Kevin Johnson exhibited the same kind of thinking that gave us “separate but equal.”

Standing up to such elitist bullcrap takes guts. Palin/Fiorina 2012?

We’ve done worse.

The reason Palin endorsed Fiorina was to stop Tom Campbell, who before the endorsement seemed to be the easy winner of the primary.

Voting started in 6 days and Tom Campbell was well ahead with 35% of the vote, and climbing.

“Campbell supports abortion rights and gay marriage, and argues that Boxer’s greatest asset against either of his two Republican opponents, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, would be the state’s decidedly un-conservative social views.

“She has always been able to move the debate over to the social issues. She will not be able to do that against me,” Campbell told POLITICO.”

“During the campaign for U.S. Senate in 2000, Campbell touted his 100 percent pro-choice voting record. He opposed a ban on “partial birth’ abortions, one of the most horrific abortion practices. (”Conservatives Agonize Backing Campbell,” Roll Call, August 7, 2000.)

Campbell in 1992 made abortion the center stage of his campaign. In the 1992 election, Campbell’s TV ad ran with the following caption: “For choice, for jobs, for U.S. Senate.” In another ad, he said, “I’m pro-choice and one of the most conservative members of Congress when it comes to spending.”In a Republican debate, he described his abortion views, as good for voters “looking for someone who is willing to break with the party line from time to time.” (Gerry Braun, “Herschensohn Won’t Pledge to Back GOP Pick; Senate Opponents Renew Acrimony in Last Debate,” San Diego Union Tribune, June 1, 1992.)

CNN’s Dan Simon gives us one Mexican-American man’s view of why Arizonans are fed up with illegal immigrants.

I didn’t say that I was opposed to that ticket, I just think it’d be hard to do unless Hillary picks a female running mate. That’s right, I said Hillary. I don’t think Barry will be their 2012 nominee.

Here is where the fun begins. AG Holder claims that the feds have sole control of immigration enforcement and no state can create their own rules. When confronted with the issue of sanctuary cities, Holder claims that AZ law goes beyond fed laws and can be challenged in court, but sanctuary cities have the option to under enforce immigration laws due to local decisions on resource allocation of local LE. Bottom line, states cannot exceed federal laws requirements but have the option to under enforce fed laws based on local situation and local LE resources to enforce fed laws. Does that mean local states can ignore fed gun laws and drug laws???!!!!! How about Civil Rights laws??!!!!!

You wouldn’t guess it judging from his name, but that Kevin Johnson guy also happens to be a professor of Chicano Studies. He’s been a hardcore open-borders advocate for a long time.
