"Sweating in the TV lights, Scott dodged other questions about McCollum's attacks and acknowledged knowing little about some top state issues, such as this year's amendment to abolish the public campaign financing system." Scott: "You guys have a lot of questions." Scott turned to a "staffer for assistance." Scott: "This is hard." After his filing, McCollum "went on the attack, telling reporters his rival has a 'suspicious background' that makes him unfit to hold office." McCollum supporters "boldly suggested Scott personally profited from abortions as the CEO of a major hospital chain." McCollum: "I'd like to believe that people at the end of the day are going to elect somebody that has been tested. They don't need a rookie up here running this place who doesn't know what Tallahassee is and what state government is really all about." McCollum "said Scott needs to know a lot more about" FL. Scott "played into his opponent's hands" when he said, "Probably by the end I will know every (Florida) county's name."

If the source is the Miami Herald, it is slant and lies.
It’s not only slant, it’s fear from the MH! They know that Scott is the better candidate and that McCollum will likely teeter on precarious social issues.
Scott has my vote!
It is very rare for a paper to actually MISQUOTE a candidate.
Are you arguing that Scott did not make the quotes that are attributed to him?
Not at all, but the downside to papers is that they can skew context. The only quotes attributed to Scott make him look aloof or unprepared for public office. If anything, I’d prefer a man who isn’t prepared. Matter of fact, McCollum is running advertisements now that essentially say, “Do you want someone to learn on the job, or do you want an experienced politician to turn around our state?”
Me personally, I’d rather have someone who isn’t a career politician. Scott isn’t above the bar and he isn’t incorruptible, but he’s not in bed with anybody (yet).
Besides, the job of governor isn’t a solo gig. The legislature makes the rules. The governor is the executive. He’ll have more helping hands than he’ll know what to do with.
I wouldn’t mind a neophyte to be my congressman, I think that would be helpful.
But personally, I want a serious and experienced person to be the executive of my state.

I agree with you, Charles.....And that’s one of the reasons I prefer Bill McCollum.
How can Rick Scott be capable of running Florida when he didn’t know that his Health Care Company was commiting Medicare fraud? That indicates to me that he wasn’t a good manager of his business.
McCollum is stauncly pro-life and he did a good job as a House Manager during the Clinton Impeachment. He was the first state AG to go after the unconstitutional Obama Health Care mandate. Many other state AGs have followed his lead.
I know who Bill McCollum is and believe he is a conservative, he did great work in the House during the Clinton impeachment, but he also is an DC insider.
I AM SO SICK OF DC INSIDERS
A big plus for me is he was the lead AG in taking on Obamacare.
Scott is an interesting fellow, takes guts to run for Florida Governor without any political ties.
I'm leaning McCollum, but he's going to have earn my vote.
Rick Scott has a fine media campaign as far as LOOKS go. But for me, the content is a little empty.
Scott started out by bashing ObamaCare—which is good. But Bill McCollum is helping lead the way to REALLY fight Obamacare in the courts. So Rick Scott isn’t focusing on that anymore, because McCollum is REALLY doing something about it. Hard to attack a primary opponent who is accomplishing something there.
Also, for some reason Rick Scott is now attacking McCollum for congress making BANKS give out bad loans. Rick Scott’s commercials insinuate Bill was passing sleazy laws, but he never gives details—
Look, I am not an expert on Bill M’s congressional voting history, but I DO know he was a pretty good conservative. He helped impeach the sexual predator and perjurer Clinton as one of the House managers.
In 20 years of service, Bill McCollum garnered an 89 out of 100 rating by the American Conservative Union—a pretty good record, imo.
I respect Rick’s private sector experience—and think he may have some good ideas. But going after McCollum like he is some kind of liberal hack is ridiculous....
