I just don't see 'How Palin Could Win' (Another Jourbalist Obot sounds off)
The Washington Post ^ | February 10, 2010 | Jonathan Capehart

Sarah Palin's raw talent is not unappreciated by me. What I don't get, however, is this undying belief that she could become president of the United States. The latest comes from Matt Lattimer at the Daily Beast. I won't fine-tooth "How Palin Could Win," except for Lattimer's last assertion.

The former speechwriter to President George W. Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld advises Palin to "remember political history." He continues,

"No actor can be elected president." "No First Lady can win a Senate seat in a state where she never lived." "No one-term senator can defeat Hillary Clinton." There are plenty more opportunities to prove those in the know wrong.

Yes, Ronald Reagan was an actor in the early days. But he served two terms as governor of California (1967 to 1975). Full terms, I might add. And he ran twice unsuccessfully for the Republican presidential nomination in 1968 and 1976 before he snagged it and the White House in 1980.(continued)

maybe a good chance you are right.
but will they run and put their families thru the MSM vetting process complete with lies and innuendoes?
and will they stay true and fight or be polite like W or sell out every now and then like Newt?

Ryan, Pence, McCotter, DeMint

Gov Palin is the only Republican pol out front taking fire every day regarding issues Conservatives care about. While these names are interesting, these individuals pop in and out of the discussion like a Chuck-E-Cheeze Whack a Mole Game. Until these and like minded Republicans grow a set and start taking the fight to Obie on a daily basis they will remain on my B list.

That’s good enough for now. I think she is just what this country needs in a leader. She has common sense and moral sense. She has experience and success in dealing with oil companies and the problems associated with getting resources out of the ground and into the economy. She has experience with dirty politicians and has locked up members of her own party. We need that. I’m afraid there wouldn’t be many left in Washington after Sarah cleaned house. Her plans are simple and sensible... and she presents them with charm and good humor. She is an answer to prayer, I do believe.

The election wasn't about Biden v Palin, and as I recall most people thought she did fairly well, the debate coming off as a draw.

Which to a lot of people meant she won, as she had the most to prove.

I also recall he said a lot of things that were incorrect during his cocky pontificating, and that was pointed out the next day.

"Gov Palin is the only Republican pol out front taking fire every day regarding issues Conservatives care about."

Taking fire every day? Where? She made her FIRST Sunday morning news show appearance of her short political career just this past week, whereas the people I've mentioned are in the media almost everyday taking tough questions from unfriendly reporters and giving far better than they are getting.

You have to win more than the conservative vote to win a national elections. Up until now, Palin has only speaks to conservatives, mostly social conservatives. That's not going to get it done. Until such a time that Palin gets off Facebook and walks into the enemy camp of broadcast and cable news and does well, you'll have to color me unimpressed.

I agree. I’ve seen enough people who thought their entire lives were worthless if they weren’t elected president. The GOP has plenty of people who would be perfectly good presidents, provided the GOP has a legislative agenda that’s worth a damn. Sarah’s putting some great ideas forward and changing the national debate to our favor. As an added bonus, she makes Olbermann’s head explode. That’s good enough for me.

Not taking fire? You must be kidding. Every aspect of her life has been examined and re-examined as the MSM works overtime to destroy her.

Your mind is already made up. When one of your pu$$y candidates gives us Obie for four more years I'll be sure not to send you a thank you note.

You recall incorrectly, or so say the scientific polls that were done immediately following the debate. Not one has it a draw.

Short political career! so 16 years in public service is short. OK that’s a new one on me. As we can see LEGISTATOR make crappy executives.

“Up until now, Palin has only speaks to conservatives, mostly social conservatives.”

Wrong, I the facts show Gov. Palin has only spoken to two pro-life groups in the last year but has given at least 3 political speeches in the last three days. I forgot there was one “minor” speech in a far off land of China but I guess that doesnot count. I think you get the point.

Where has she gained this experience?

Since Randy Scheunemann was her debate coach in 2008 and is now an advisor to Palin, I would think that she has practice debating to some extent. This is only an assumption but I'm am completely positive that you have no proof that she isn't a more experienced debater.

Sarah has improved in every area necessary to become a great presidential candidate because she is first and foremost a superstar and secondly she has applied herself to improve herself. You could tell by her interview with Chris Wallace on Sunday.

They sure are worried she might run? You would think they might want the GOP to put up its least effective candidate.

Just so we’re completely clear, we are talking about the woman who, to become governor, beat the incumbent Republican of Alaska in the primary and his Democrat immediate predecessor in the general election, are we not? In a year, I might add, when more experienced Republican politicians were having serious difficulty winning. That Sarah Palin?

You're making assumptions, but are completely positive I have "no proof". I'm drawing a conclusion based upon the facts at hand. I have no knowledge of, and apparently neither do you, of Palin debating anyone privately, but certainly no one publicly, since her debate with Biden.

So, you're completely positive she's a more experienced debater but can't demonstrate any place she's debated or proffer anyone that has been her debate opponent. I hope you're not a scientist.

My assumption has some merit and I am awaiting your answer from which you drew your conclusion, Einstein.
