The number of Americans who describe themselves as "conservative" outnumbers those who call themselves "liberal" by more than two-to-one, according to the latest report by pollster Kellyanne Conway, published in Human Events newspaper, with the headline, The Unbearable Lightness of Approval Ratings.

According to the Pew Research Center, 48% of Americans prefer a “smaller government [with] fewer services,” up from 42% prior to the November election.

Yeah - and according to liberals were all Timothy McVeigh. Not that the wonderful open minded liberals would ever profile ... nope not those hypocrites.

If we outnumber the Libs, how could the votes for President be so close?

Because we only vote once in any given election.

Two bits gave a nice humorous answer. However, the real answer is this: Voters do not equate the population of the US. Most people don't vote. Even if we outnumber them, and I am sure we do, we must get the conservatives concerned enough to vote. Most conservatives stay home because they think the constitution protects them and the system will take care of everything and life will be hunky dory(or Hunky Dunky as one actor used to say).

Unfortunately we have to take a hand in it, we can't just sit around thinking a document will keep us safe.

Another aspect of last election, and I lost my best friend over this, a life long conservative she was too, is that many thought the republicans were screwed up, and they were, and voted for Bozo.

I don't like what the republican party has become but would never have voted for the Bozo, never.

Oh good grief. Sorry about your friend.

Some of us (not me) stayed home because, they said, that they didn’t have a choice. The MSM chose both candidates, and both were unacceptable. I voted for Sarahcuda.

Somewhere I heard that over 30% of the electorate stayed home, and the only thing that put zer0 over the top was the oak-tree seed, no kidding, voting over and over. We only found some of that hanky-panky, obviously not enough.

Maybe we should get George Sorry@$$ out of our electoral process? Ya think?

Conservative voters — many of them — sat on their hands and did not vote for McCain. They were angry over campaign finance reform and other apostasies of McCain.
