The "Granite Status" political column by Senior Political Reporter John DiStaso has learned the latest on Republican Fred Thompson's fledgling New Hampshire campaign.
Expect an announcement soon of a campaign headquarters, which is now up and running at 23 West Webster Street in Manchester, and a campaign staff.
The political director will be veteran conservative activist Chris Wood, a former Rudy Giuliani supporter, while GOP activist Liz Christoffersen is the state campaign coordinator and former Executive Councilor Bill Cahill is senior advisor.
Former state Rep. Dan Hughes is chairman of the state campaign. Former Ambassador Gerald Carmen is also prominently on board.
Read DiStaso's column tomorrow in the New Hampshire Union Leader. An extended version will be posted at UnionLeader.com.
Just yesterday you got this for posting the same erroneous information:

“I met Duncan Hunter at the Freedom Concert. He is a great man, and I very much admire him. Unfortunately, he will not catch on this year.
Instead of hearing you give us Freds position and label him as pro-amnesty, let us hear his words:

Former Senator Fred D. Thompson... [Rich Lowry]
... today released the following statement regarding the immigration bill currently pending in the United States Senate: With this bill, the American people are going to think they are being sold the same bill of goods as before on border security. We should scrap this bill and the whole debate until we can convince the American people that we have secured the borders or at least have made great headway.

You are not going to get away with mischaracterizing him.”
DFU was right in this post.
Obviously you don’t remember 1988......
Remember 432,179 votes and zero electorial college votes.... That’s the tie from 1988 to 2008

Yeah, I know it is a pipe dream, but one I am willing to commit to. I really think it will be harder for Ron Paul to get the Republican nomination than it would be for him to win in the general election.
However, the stakes are so high for my children and grand children, that I am willing to make the commitment.
My tag line is not a joke. I really think Ron Paul is our last chance to change the direction of our country. There is no Ronald Reagan waiting in the wings, to replace a Goldwater.
Know every candidate's major financial backers, and inner circle as well as closest campaign and policy advisors. This more than anything else will speak VOLUMES about where he is going to eventually end up on these issues in the White House, more so than ANY campaigning, soundbites and position papers right now which is nothing more than Madison Avenue selling soap in a box.
It is sad but I see a lot of good conservatives be seduced by the latter, stampeding into supporting some viewed as "saviors", but failing to do this key work of DUE DILIGENCE on the men who would be The President, much as we would do a background check, look at references, and not just go on how a candidate did in a job interview for a critical team position we in business would hire them for.
I would think we have had our fill of being tricked by RINOs running for President. We need a "real deal" as the nominee of the G.O.P. this time around. There is not much time left for our country.
