And most of the law enforcement agencies in America wanted that assault weapons ban. They don't want to go into a drug bust and be facing an AK-47. I was hunting in Iowa last year with the sheriff of one of the counties there, and he pointed to a house in back of us and said, "See that house over there? We just did a drug bust a week earlier and the guy we arrested had an AK-47 lying on the bed right beside him." Because of the president's decision, today law enforcement officers will walk into a place that'll be more dangerous.

Maybe he stole that "Chinese model" AK that Kerry says he kept as a souvenir of his glory days in Vietnam, but now can't locate.

What is the funniest part of the Assault weapon ban is that all automatic weapons are already illegal. The so-called ban is just another 'window dressing' law that duplicates already existing laws.
Regardless of these laws---the people that use these weapons are criminals that couldn't care less what law(s) we have in effect. Mr Kerry ought to be worrying more about that than scoring 'points' in a debate.

Thats AK-47 magazines for sell you linked to not the gun. Original AK-47 is fully automatic, wasn't even legally sold in US before the "assault rifle" ban.
