Internet gay cannibalism net widens

KASSEL - Prosecutors Thursday said they have filed a murder indictment against one of two gay men who met in an Internet chat room, where it allegedly was agreed that one of them would kill and devour the other.

And in a stunning new development, prosecutors in Kassel said they are broadening the investigation to include some 430 other persons believed to have been involved in the Internet gay cannibalism chat room that led to the death of a 42-year-old man in March 2001.

Prosecutors are convinced that the victim, a computer analyst from Berlin, agreed to be killed and eaten. His dismembered and partially devoured remains were found at the residence of a 41-year-old suspect.

That suspect, identified only as Armin M., has been charged with murder. Cannibalism per se is not a crime under German law.

Despite the fact that the victim willingly agreed to be killed, prosecutors said the case could not be considered "assisted suicide". So they opted for a murder indictment.

Prosecutors Thursday said the suspect has admitted videotaping himself killing the Berlin man, a computer chip developer at Siemens corporation, identified only as Bernd Juergen B.

On the morning of his disappearance from Berlin on March 9, 2001, Bernd Juergen B. completed his will. He left the bulk of his estate including a lavish penthouse apartment and EUR 50,000 worth of computer equipment to his live-in partner, a man named Rene.

According to police, the victim had several thousand dollars in cash and his passport when he travelled 300 kilometres from Berlin to the alleged murderer's house near Kassel.

Searching the rambling, 30-room, half-timbered house in the village of Rotenburg, investigators unearthed skeletal remains, some of them packaged in a freezer, along with videotapes and CD-ROMs on which the suspect allegedly recorded his actions.

Authorities were tipped off to the crime by internet surfers who stumbled upon chat room requests allegedly posted by the suspect in which he was looking for people willing to be slaughtered and eaten by him.

You must have 'special' protection to get away with your flaunting of the posting guidelines. How do you manage? Are you related to some FR big shot, kevin? You the crazy uncle? How does CJ tie in, as a crazy ideologue?
-tpaine-

I think they keep them around for the humor value. If they had real stroke with the mods, they would actually respond when CJ cries to them every other post.

They used to suspend on CJ's complaints quite often. I see less of that now, so hopefully that has been changed. I'm encouraged that more often, crap threads like this one are put in the backroom.

If his silly behavior continues, I may have to invoke the new 'no ping' rule.
-tpaine-

Is there a thread that this was mentioned on? A certain someone the other day decided he was not man enough to hang with jmc and invoked that rule on me.
-jmc-

I've been told a couple of times now, in no uncertain terms, that if I reply in ANY way to freepers who have reguested no more 'pings', -- that I could be suspended or even banned.

As an experiment, I invoked that same 'request' on a pinging pest just the other day.

We shall see if the new 'rule' is to be impartialy enforced.
Theoretically of course, as a result we could all end up on various 'Restricted Republic Chatrooms', instead of the Free Republic Forum, - but who am I to second guess the PTB?

Oh, and all impotence is caused by libertarians, too.
-Catty Crawford-

And viagra doesn't work if you agree with Ron Pauls theories on government.
Or so I'm told, of course.

Libertarians probably don't cause impotence...they're just carriers. Although, there have been scientific studies relating Ron Paul floor speeches to worldwide limpies.

And I have a neighbor who becomes orgasmically challenged everytime she sees his picture. But that's anecdotal.

The question is, who's gonna stop such consensual evil in a Me-ocracy?

A good question indeed. In the words of Edmund Burke

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
While I usually enjoy the writings of tpaine and tdadams, I get the feeling (and perhaps I'm wrong), they think we should let consenting adults do whatever they want no matter what the consequences or cost on society, both morally and financially. If that's their position then I have to vehemently disagree.

Libertarians have the right to be impotent, especially after smoking dope.

BTW, would the alleged perp in this article make a movie called "The Germanater?"

I think it would be difficult to remember who not to ping. Well, it could get difficult if many requested no pings or responses from some folks. Some time ago I heard an idea tossed back and forth about filters. That is, we could configure filters to block posts, pings, responses from whoever we configured to block. I don't know if that's in the works or is an easy implementation...

Ooooh, very good. Technically it should be "Germanatim", but it doesn't work as well.

My favorite part:

"...cannibalism is not a crime per se in Germany." You gotta love these people.

Homicidal gay cannibals, eh?

How long 'til some one-track bozo tries to link this to FR's Libertarians, I wonder.

Except for his position on Iraq, open borders, bringing all military personnel home, abortion and only using the military for defensive purposes...he's okay.

Oh, I forgot to add that, since he couldn't get elected as a Libertarian, he falsely ran as a conservative Republican and after his election to the House, has done everything in his power to undermine and sabotage the party. And he looks like the Crypt Keeper.

Their 'open borders' plank of their Party calls for allowing people of the world to freely migrate to wherever the flesh is tastier ...

... So when the oppressed behavioral minority of cannibals move in next door and people get upset about it and do harm to the dignity of cannibals by saying their deed is evil, the Supreme Court will have to mandate the toleration their evil, too.

open borders

He's a close ally of Tom Tancredo, so I highly doubt this is true.

abortion

Another untruth. Paul is a former OB/GYN doctor and is unapologetically pro-life.

and after his election to the House, has done everything in his power to undermine and sabotage the party.

Ahhhh, now the truth comes out. It's no surprise that most of the Paul detractors happen to be big Bush fans. Was Paul's criticism of Bush's decision to send $15 billion in AIDS funding to Africa considered "sabotaging the party" by you folks?

Well, to tolerate evil makes one just as guilty as the doer of evil. The allegation that the LP enshrines the toleration of evil as a human right and makes consent the highest arbiter of right and wrong allows normal conservatives to query their philosophy's ideas related to horrid news items such as this. If they are unable to defend the indefensible then that's hardly the fault of those who would query their philosophy.
