Any links to the study that tracked every single airman after WWII and categorized their cause of death?

Bingo. There is NO hard scientific data on which to base these claims. Statistical models turn out some sort of probability factor that is applied to the population size, and presto! a number pops out. On the Oklahoma state health department website, it specifically says 750 Oklahomans die each year from passive cigarette smoke.

You could, arguably, come up with some sort of probability factor for dying from suppressing a really large fart, apply that to the US population and get a number of deaths per year due to "flatulence suppression/reversal syndrome."
