Try teoma.com. When I do a search on temoa, it generally comes up with the same things that google does. It does not have the "cached" pages, like google however. This is too bad because the "cached" pages gives you access to something that may no longer be posted, like a newspaper article.

Google is not the government and they can 'censor' any ads they don't want. And I can quit using its search engine.
Done.

"Google is not the government and they can 'censor' any ads they don't want. Get over it and/or start your own search engine. There is no 1st Amendment issue here."You are absolutely correct but the problem lies in the fact that the MEDIA will ALWAYS use situations such as this to forward the LIBERAL agenda. Google will not be presented as a private business that is using its legal powers of choosing advertisers, but as a champion of the fight AGAINST christianity.
Just look at how the MEDIA has chastised Augusta National for doing WHAT IT HAS THE LEGAL AUTHORITY TO DO!
It is not a question of first ammendment rights but how the MEDIA chooses to present the story!

I'm curious why you say that this "bigotry (towards Christians)is apt description of Google's behavior," apparently based on the single thread above. I presume you have evidence of many other similar events? I have had a large Christian website up and running for about 1-1/2 years, for which i thank Google for probably 70% of the hits i have received (it's quite a busy site), and in which some of the pages have been listed in the top ten from time to time. I don't happen to have any content in the site that condemns or even remotely implies condemnation of anyone, which may account for their quite positive treatment of my site. It also is clearly PRO-America...and highly supportive of our American military.
So, maybe the 'key' to success with Google (besides great meta-tagging ;-) is that you promote your ideas without dragging down other people? Just a thought.

Well, they hired her. And, presumably, trained her, both of which are irrelevant. Not only do underlings make mistakes, but so do bosses, who can be persuaded to reverse a standing policy. But this fellow will never know, because he didn't bother to ask. He was too busy complaining....

Dito here. Just deleted Google from the favorites list. I read the
Wired article; the Goofle owner/guy on the moral steering wheel over there listens to NPR in the car and he is apparently a Democrat/Independent airhead. Enough said. Thank you for that
Wired link. As usual Freepers are the best.
So here's the answer according to Wired:
ALLTHEWEB.COM
I tried it and ALLTHEWEB is streamlined like Goofle, has 14 day update crawls, and is as fast as Goofle too. Ta Da.

You people are silly. Google didn't treat this advertiser any differently than all their others (I've had several ads pulled from Google for various reason). But somehow, when they treat The Christian Courier the same as everyone else, it's bigotry and worthy of a boycott! Too funny and, unfortunately, too typical.

"usual arrogance of the Saved."Thank you. We needed input from the damned. Take a bow.
I rest my case.

At this time, Google policy does not permit the advertisement of websites that contain anti-homosexual content. OK, I'm pissed.
To: AdamSelene235
I read some place lately that google's French and German affiliates, google.fr and google.de, are going to stop linking their search engines to what they consider hate sites.
To: Aquinasfan
At this time, Google policy does not permit the advertisement of websites that contain anti-homosexual content.Do they, then, accept "pro-gay" content? Seems they have established that they are not (despite the claims of some here), morally neutral on certain issues.
Google is like unto CBCABCCNNNBCMSNBC or others that present leftist litanies without opposition. Obviously, some accept that as a given and good.

Every few months I need to repeat what I have been saying for about 15 years now:
Political diversity, Multiculturalism and ersatz "tolerance" will be the death of our society.
God Bless This Great Country!

Google is a private business and can list or not list copy as it chooses. The Christian Courier has no claim on them except the usual arrogance of the Saved.
You're swallowing the camel to strain at your own personal gnats (..."usual arrogance of the Saved"). If A says he has a policy that won't permit B to do C and yet does C himself, then he should be held to account for his hypocrisy, especially if he is offering a service to the public that is based on the prohibition. At the minimum, his own personal preferences aside, he is engaging in false advertising.

You never made one. You don't even know what religion I am.

...then he should be held to account for his hypocrisy...
Well, he (Google) is free to be a hypocrite and others are free to call him on it, but when the others expect him to change his ways because they've called him on it, that's "the usual arrogance of the Saved" all over.
