Critics fear law for gays will muzzle preachers while homos lobby for imposition of the death penalty for those breaking this new law. (/sarcasm)

A trial run of this new penalty has already been carried out:

** Pennsylvania Gov. Mark Schweiker yesterday signed legislation that gives homosexuals statewide legal protection from verbal harassment and hate crimes — a move that critics argue targets church leaders who preach against the homosexual lifestyle.**

So do Catholics also have this statewide legal protection from verbal harassment and hate crimes?

Methinks this needs to be challenged in court.

Three students shot with BB gun outside Baltimore Catholic School

Three students shot with BB gun outside Baltimore Catholic school

BALTIMORE (CNS) -- Three students were shot outside a Baltimore Catholic school at dismissal time in an incident the parish pastor described as an isolated event that has terrified the neighborhood. Three seventh-graders from St. Thomas Aquinas School were injured Nov. 19 when a 14-year-old boy allegedly fired a BB gun from the window of a city bus as it passed the school. A 13-year-old girl was shot in the back, a 12-year-old girl was shot in the lip and a 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg, according to Father James Farmer, the pastor who was on the scene. The girls were treated at a hospital and released the same day. None of the injuries was serious and all three students returned to class the next day. At the time of the afternoon shootings, about five parents who were arriving to pick up their children from school surrounded the bus to prevent the alleged perpetrator from leaving until police arrived and arrested him, according to witnesses.
