They wimped ... Yup fair-minded and impartial... and corrupted by their own power to persuade.
So Long, Old Friend. See you in 2004. Who will you endorse then? Hussein?

Simon and his supporters great fault has been the refusal to publically reveal his secret vice. If they would only do so and then issue an apology he would win hands down. People love vice addicts as we are a nation of vice addicts.

But for every good thing he has done, he has demeaned the office of governor many times over through his incessant fund-raising from those who do business with the state, those who work for it and those who are regulated by it Lets face it, the guy is as corrupt as a Clinton Secretary of the Interior.
e He generally ignores the questions of character and conduct that he has brought down on himself. When he does take notice, he blithely asserts that he has not put state government up for sale.
Of course state government is not for sale, it is for lease. You must renew your lease every four years.

The Republican, Bill Simon, is simply out of the question. He won the primary only because the Democratic governor helped beat the best Republican candidate in the field. Like Al Gore's legacy, the SacBee needs to get over it. Riordan was no Republican.

I see.
These editorial writers would rather have an incompetent crook Democrat than a competent, but somewhat politically inexperienced, Republican businessmann.

If Jesus Christ came back, registered as a Republican and ran for office, the Bee would not support him.

Good editorial. It reflects my sentiments, except for the bit about paid leave, which sucks (another one of those programs where the worker bees subsidize the malingerers). I voted my absentee ballot today. I voted for one Democrat.

Well the Bee and Jerkury News have shown the terrible effects of decades of being infected by chronic STD's that infect the central nervous systems of the maggots who own and control these fish wraps. Throw in decades of drug abuse from the 1960/70's you have some real mentally ill maggots in charge of these two newspapers. That can be the only reason why they are still for Davis.
They are in bed with Herr Davis and have been since he was Moon Beam Brown's controller during Moon Beam's terms as the fairy governor.
They are nothing but farm league team fishwraps trying to be like their role models, the NY Slimes and Washington Compost!

no one should mistake this for an endorsement of Gray Davis or his cashbox politics. But of course that's exactly what it is. Just like the decision of the SCoNJ to put Lautenberg on the ballot was an endorsement of a man--and a party--which did not oppose Torricelli in the Democratic primary.
