Group Claims It Has Pictures Of Davis Taking Illegal Contribution

The executive director of a law enforcement group that endorses Republican gubernatorial nominee Bill Simon said today he had two photos showing then Lt. Gov. Gray Davis accepting a campaign contribution in his state Capitol office -- in violation of the law.

Fair enough, but Gray-out Davis has a 5X cash advantage 30 days prior to election day.

That would worry me much more in CA. But Grayout has already spent over $20 million (!!), and he can't crack 45% in the polls. Pathetic.

Simon needs to stay on the attack, convince people he's a legitimate candidate that can win and handle the gov's office. Simon's got room to grow (although not much time); Davis is known and extremely disliked.

If the photos existed and clearly showed Davis accepting what is clearly a contribution in a goverment office, those photos would have already appeared. That they have not appeared is an indication that either they do not show this clearly or that they do not really exist, IMO.

Sounds like smoke to me.

Speaking of pictures of candidates, I have it on good word from a source that has never mislead me that a picture of a certin NC Senate Candidate doing something a candidate should never do will hit the press days before the election. I would say more, but my source has told me not to speak of it. But trust me, a lot of people will not be happy.

It is a simple matter to find out whether Davis (and now Angele, who has been bought off with a Davis appointment) are lying. Compare the office and its furniture, as shown in the photograph, to contemporaneous photos of Lt. Gov. Davis and various groups like the Girl Scouts and the United Way in his office.

If the background of the check photos matches the background of the "innocent" photos -- of which there should be many -- than this is clear evidence of a crime committed by Davis, then running for Governor.

To me, these photos look like someone cut the two men and check out of one picture and pasted them into another. Look closely along the edges of the men.
